  1. Ink replacement mid-job? HP L300

We can change inks at any time on our 360. Still have to instigate it through the "replace ink cartridges" function on the screen, but the inks don't need to be empty to do it. So if you're mid-print, need to go out, and not sure if the ink will last until you're back, you can throw in a full...
  2. Photo tex ?

For what it's worth, I have a 360 and have all sorts of colour consistency and alignment issues on multi-piece prints. I managed to get a decent sized wall (7 drops IIRC) to align to within 2mm (most of it less than 1mm) with no colour issues on the Photo Tex by profiling it as CMYK only (no...
  3. HP Latex 330 printed size too small?

Absolutely no idea what's causing it sorry. Latest firmware, everything is up to date. the HP tech did a "file system" purge or rebuild or something that sounds to me like a combined disk cleanup & defrag. Hasn't fixed it. When I'm back in the workshop I'll post some pics of just how bad the...
  4. HP Latex 330 printed size too small?

Yeah just a restart on the machine (no need to turn it off at the wall). Was the width correct this time? The length discrepancy is about what you'd expect, just a matter of whether it's a consistent length (ie, tiles of the same size all line up, albeit slightly short).
  5. Latex 360 color consistency is not there

CMYK only, thanks to your tip.
  6. tire decals got me stumped

Yeah I can't see a decal staying on. We're talking high speed, and extremely quick squash/expand every time the tyre revolves (70 times a second at 250kph).
  7. HP Latex 330 printed size too small?

Something to consider: Our 360 all of a sudden started doing weird things like skewing and misalignment on successive printing passes. I've narrowed it down to a glitch that happens when the printer has gone in to sleep mode. There is no explanation for it, and like I said, it just started doing...
  8. Latex 360 color consistency is not there

Well, I'm surprised... It worked! It wasn't the biggest wall (approx 6500 x 2600mm) but of the 5 drops there was only maybe 1-2mm maximum that some areas didn't line up perfectly, which was much better than I expected and way better than we've ever been able to achieve. Colour was also very...
  9. Latex 360 color consistency is not there

Thinking about OMAS. If I understand it correctly, it measures the media stepping, environmental factors, and the alignmnet of the stars or whatever, to make sure that each pass drops the ink in the best possible position to align with the previous pass. This is so that the print is visually...
  10. Flatten Transparency Issue CS5

Alternatively, AFTER you've flattened your transparency, make a new clipping mask for it that is the same shape as the CutContour layer, but offset however much bleed you'd want (eg, 5mm, rounded edges). Apply that and your art layer will be an even 5mm larger than the CutContour and centred to it.
  11. Need help saving an .eps file down to CS4

Either hit "embed" and it will be broken down to its elements. If that doesn't work or there are fonts used that you don't have, try "flatten transparency", slide the bar all the way to Vector, make text outlines. If it does have transparency it can be a pain because it'll break all the elements...
  12. Latex 360 color consistency is not there

Cool, it's those "New" ones at the top that I'm using, so should be good to go. My tech didn't mention the lc/lm thing, probably because it's irrelevant to the consistency issue where different media presets print differently. Would have been nice to know though. It'd suck to have to go 12...
  13. Latex 360 color consistency is not there

Sorry I haven't replied before now. 80 hour weeks, 3 kids, and a wife that works full-time too. To answer the question of whether the HP tech solved the problem... yes. And no. This guy seems to be completely honest about everything which is refreshing. The reason so many people (everyone?)...
  14. Preview .EPS files from windows explorer

I'd say that's down to the how the EPS files have been saved. We always turn the previews OFF when saving them, as a low res 72dpi preview is still a lot of info when the graphic is 5 metres wide. I would imagine the EPS files you can see previews for have them turned on. Something not related...
  15. Oce Arizona 350gt Ink Heater Problem

This is just a guess, but if it's coming up N/A for the temps, I would say it's a temperature sensor problem. If it was the heating mechanism itself, I'd expect to have the same error message but still show the temperature (which would be roughly room temperature).
  16. exporting files to printer

EPS files all the way with us. There are too many variables with PDF files not just in the settings you set yourself, but the settings your customers have used in supplying their files. Since we pretty much never just use the customer's supplied files as-is (we add info details on customer...
  17. Skewed feed on 360

I see where you're coming from, but I don't think this is the issue. For one, this recent media has never been on the takeup reel. Secondly, after that first dodgy print, the media on the roll had a big crinkle from the uneven feed, so I trimmed off a good 1.5 to 2 metres of it before feeding it...
  18. Buying new Printer..WHICH ONE?!!

Well there is the printer AND the new business name sorted.
  19. Skewed feed on 360

This is not the issue. What you're describing would be the media itself shrinking or distorting. That's not the issue - the ink is being dropped in the wrong position because the media is feeding unevenly and skewing.
  20. My Mimaki jv33-130 is randomly printing yellow

I think another member had a similar problem except it was happening all the time, probably worth doing a search.
