  1. anyone here deal with fellers?

Best Roland supplier on the east coast, hands down.
  2. Magenta shadow on Black

Check adjustments, manual and electronic. If they are in spec, then it's a head.
  3. Sheet set error...

My Xc-540 is getting a sheet set error no matter what I do.. It will also have a hard time finding the crop marks sometimes. This is something that is new and hasn't happened in the past, so I know I am setting the printer up correctly. Is this the data cable? Is there anything else I can...
  4. Pittsburgh WOW

I was there, but I missed seeing the stripers. Great show, lots of cars, lots of people, was a great time.
  5. XC-540 Overspray! I Need Help!!!!

Slowing the head speed down will do nothing. If the printer has been printing fine for 2 years like this, it's an obvious problem with the printer, not a problem with any configuration. Head speed, heat and static, are all huge myths on this board that I never understand people recommending...
  6. XC-540 Overspray! I Need Help!!!!

NONE OF THESE PROBLEMS ARE RELATED TO STATIC. STATIC IS A TOTAL MYTH in 99% of cases!!! These printers are MADE to perform in these type of environments. I don't see anything wrong with the test prints, but the resolution isn't very high on the scan, so I can't see them as nice as I would...
  7. XC-540 Overspray! I Need Help!!!!

This is a bad head. As for which one, I am guessing the cyan head, but getting into service mode and doing the vertical, horizontal, and bi directional adjustments will tell you. If these colors aren't printing right in these tests, it will help you narrow down which head is going bad. The...
  8. cutting reflective

Bump it to 195, then go higher if needed. I would do a small run first, bumping it up 10 points each time. We print tons of reflective and don't see the material damage our blades or hurt our blade holders any faster than our printer that doesn't run the reflective...
  9. C'mon you love it - gradient banding!

Clean the heads, ensure the test print looks right. If not, take control of the hardware issues first, then worry about software tweaks. If it's a vector file, For a true black, set in 75% Cyan, 68% magenta, 65.5% yellow and 90% black for the file to print a really nice black, or (0, 0, 0)...
  10. C'mon you love it - gradient banding!

Change it from 8 pass to 16 pass, then roll with it. Slower printing, but should get rid of it.
  11. Ink printing like spray can

Debris or a print head. Doubt it's the encoder strip. Cleaning the encoder strip won't void the warranty.
  12. NEW VersaCAMM VS-640

It's painfully slow. Hope you don't want to do any production with it.
  13. What is the longest...

39" long x width of the media. Any longer, you're asking for trouble.
  14. bad alignment? - black "bleeding" red + blue

No, that isn't what it needs. Making it closer won't help. The head won't actually go any lower. You cannot touch the alignment of the head without knowing what you're doing. I would recommend calling a technician from this point forward.
  15. XC540 printing with small halo

Head height wouldn't cause an issue to this extreme.
  16. bad alignment? - black "bleeding" red + blue

Head alignment more than likely...manual adjustment is all you can do. Service mode is your friend on this one.
  17. XC540 printing with small halo

A lot of people blame this issue on static, this isn't what's causing the problem. If your printer printed fine before this issue, then static isn't the problem. Overspray is rarely a static issue when your printer has been established, and printing fine in the same area for a long time...
  18. Greys printing pink all of a sudden?

Dampers did nothing. Picture is distorted on the test print, I'm thinking this could be a head problem....
  19. Greys printing pink all of a sudden?

Service mode report... There is something wrong with the light cyan head. It isn't firing during the horizontal alignment test and is dropping out some during the vertical alignment. I will change the dampers and see.
  20. Greys printing pink all of a sudden?

I've looked at them outdoors, but they are still off. I have a test swatch that I use for greys, which is how I know that it's really far off. I don't think I Swapped lines, but I wish it was that easy! Any other ideas? This is definitely hardware related, but I can't pinpoint it..
