  1. Hey Moze....

Following up on my earlier post, I will have to leave a 1-star rating on my DeWalt pencil sharpener / trim router combo. Although it did fit the collet, even at its slowest setting and with the DeWalt patented soft-start motor engaged, the sharpener took off for low earth orbit like one of...
  2. Hey Moze....

Odd how all our threads end up in that same dark place. We started out with cordless airflow and ended up with bi-curious, pantless navel-gazing.
  3. Hey Moze....

If I can get it to fit the collet of my DeWalt cordless trim router I can sharpen pencils as 25,500 RPM.
  4. Hey Moze....

I picked up this DeWalt pencil sharpener (it's yellow so I think it is DeWalt). I didn't read the fine print that it needed a drill to make it work, lucky for me I had a compatible DeWalt 1/2 drill and didn't have to spend another $109.00 to get a good lead point.
  5. Routing Lexan

Thank you all for the feedback - some good stuff in here to consider. As far as the how and why: I pretty much had to work with what was available locally at the time. No oversized sheets of Lexan and only SCIGRIP #4 for the cement. The client was in a hurry and didn't want to wait for materials...
  6. Just In How to Calculate Your Hourly Shop Rate

Nice work. I will wait for the spreadsheet that calculates how many hours I will have to work until I die, so I can set a timer and have something to look forward to.
  7. Routing Lexan

Thank you for the feedback. Now that I am not holding the router by hand a tiny lap joint might be doable.
  8. Routing Lexan

Might work, I do have a handheld Ryobi belt sander and some duct tape. Will think about this in the morning - thanks Gino.
  9. Routing Lexan

I dunno - I don't have a table saw but the seams are pretty short - 12" to 14" long. I need a tight fit so the glue doesn't run out of a gap & ruin the face. Once that acrylic cement burns into the face there's no do-over. Using a straight edge to edge butt joint seemed to work, was hardly...
  10. Routing Lexan

Hi all, Looking for some tips on getting good results chamfering the edge of thin 1/8" or 3mm Lexan (Home Depot). I need to put a clean 45-degree edge on it that I can use to join 2 pieces with some acrylic solvent cement. I have a DeWalt cordless trim router with a carbide 45dg edge trimming...
  11. New scam? Most likely!

Ask him if he served with Colonel Sanders and if he says yes, then he should be legit.
  12. Wrapping tanker trailers?

The main tube and the rear cap are not that bad. I'd try to talk him into leaving the blue on the support ribs and rails - those would be a pain to wrap neat and clean. I have used both printed laminated 180c and 1080/2080 wrap film on those same tankers - works and holds up well. Best if you...
  13. Maintenance Station cogs

Usually means it's time to get a new maintenance station. What you can try first is to clean the station focusing on the track and moving parts for the wiper. Then use the 'Head Maintenance' option in the menu cycle the head off the station a few times. Seemed to get the gears working again and...
  14. Suggestions Oh boy..........................

Gino if the restaurant business is anything like it is here and with her people skills, you can take solace in that they will most likely go out of business before the ink in those prints have a chance to fully cure.
  15. Suggestions Oh boy..........................

At least we have all learned something valuable from Gino in this thread. The poor reliability of the German-engineered BMW is real & not just an internet urban legend.
  16. Suggestions Oh boy..........................

Yikes, with what has transpired I am surprised her name is Sophia and not Karen. Time to cut and run.
  17. Suggestions Oh boy..........................

Very little of the small red bricks used here. Everything is concrete hollow block with rebar down the middle or precast. Not many wooden houses here either - strong storms and the termites that help you load the wood into your truck at Home Depot so they can get it to their colonies sooner.
  18. Horrifying and stuck on this logo

Looks like his cow only has one eye - is he ok with you adding an extra?
  19. Suggestions Oh boy..........................

Looks really good Gino. Next, you should see how much she'd be willing to pay to clean up those mortar joints
  20. What the heck is going on with the Olympics?

Anyone watching them? I have not, but odd headlines keep popping up every day: https://www.nbcnews.com/news/sports/norwegian-women-s-beach-handball-team-fined-not-playing-bikinis-n1274453 Really? - I appreciate a well-worn bikini but come on.......
