  1. Laminate Roll Width compared to Media Roll Width

Grimco will cut your laminate to whatever width you want. They charge 10 bucks. I’m guessing if you are a large volume customer, they will do it for free. Before we found out just how straight this USTECH laminator tracked, we had them cut some 8508 from 54” to 52”. One time due to a loading...
  2. Anybody bought a Mutoh through Fellers?

We purchased a 1304 from Feller’s, 6 years ago. They had the best price @ $13,000ish with onsite installation, a 2 year factory warranty, WASATCH RIP and a whole pile of material. It was drop shipped directly from Mutoh and Scott from Feller’s came and installed it. He did an excellent...
  3. Problems with coroplast

You need to speak with your supplier. We get the dirt/hair/looks like dog poo extras just like you, but ours throws in mashed corners for free. As someone mentioned, yeah, the answer is buy stuff by the skid. Once we drove to NUDO in Springfield, IL to get a bunch of PolyMetal directly from the...
  4. Would any judge convict me?

<rant> So for like the hundredth time (it seems like anyway) I had a person come looking for some sign material “remnants”. He explained he was looking for a 3’x4’ remnant that he could have. I explained that when we cut off a portion of a $50 piece of substrate that the “off fall” does not...
  5. What Are You/Did You Buy On Sale Black Friday?

The 50" LED TV Amazon had for $149.99 and added the Squaretrade 5yr warranty for $26. Ordered it Friday at 8PMish and sitting at my door at 9AM Monday morning. Well packed too. Picture is very nice.
  6. Will older Flexi work on WIndows 10 ?

We ported over an old copy of VE LXi Master Plus 8.0v3 and it works great on a brand new machine we built running Windows 10. I'n not sure if the version #'s of the VE LXi version lines up with the official Flexi or not. I was concerned about the hardware security dongle, but that was not an...
  7. Year and a half report on USTECH 65" Laminator

Year and a half in after purchasing our USTECH 65” Laminator from Dave at USTECH. Things are still working great. As you may have read in my original thread, we web the machine via the method I learned from Scott at Feller’s and tho it makes it pretty easy, we actually leave the machine webbed...
  8. Laminator Rollers Up or Down?

Always up just a fraction. However, left down the other weekend and no flat spots. So easy to raise though I'd never leave it down on purpose. Why take, the chance? USTECH 65" with electric raise/lower
  9. JPEG ---> Vector

This happens every time (But its a PDF. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr) That and the infamous handing of the business card with the 1/2" logo they want made into a 4ft square banner.
  10. USTECH 65" MVT-600 cold laminator purchase from Dave at bestdgi.com

What is Scott from Fellers method? I'm sure Scott didn't invent this method, but that's the only way I knew how to refer to it. Scott installed our printer several years ago. (As a point of interest I use a small phillips screwdriver to score the paper)...
  11. USTECH 65" MVT-600 cold laminator purchase from Dave at bestdgi.com

Just popped in briefly and thought I’d give a 1 year+ review of the USTECH 65” laminator I started this thread about. It continues to work flawlessly and is the best bang-for-the-buck equipment purchase we’ve made since we opened. So far we haven’t ruined even one piece of material. I continue...
  12. Laminator for a simple process

Have the 65" version of the last one. You definitely want the power raise lower. Couldn't be happier and saved a cool 7 grand.
  13. 1304 nozzle test issue - ideas?

5 year old 1304 with very few hours (all life meters still read Full). No heads strikes. Cleaned weekly. Greeted today with this on the black. Anyone see this before? Does it look like a classic blocked nozzle? I dunno. First time I've ever gotten anything but a perfect test pattern.

  15. Who's got an ISA show code?

I jacked around and am just now registering for the Vegas ISA show. Anyone got one of the codes?
  16. 54" Roll material rack

    Thnx everyone!!
  17. 54" Roll material rack

Tired of tripping over rolls of material. Idea is 4x4 for base legs and 2x4 for uprights. Lags @ 45 degrees to hold the rolls on conduit bars. Comments or better ideas?
  18. USTECH 65" MVT-600 cold laminator purchase from Dave at bestdgi.com

Six months in and still happy as a clam. Ran quite a number of 54" wide jobs this week with perfect results. Extremely happy with our USTECH laminator. Only other thing I can add is definitely get the electric raise/lower model. It's a ripoff at $500 extra when you consider the...
  19. Whatcha know about 3M Print Film 40C-10R that replaced IJ40C

Def not the same aggressive initial tack as IJ40. Adhesive pattern is different and just looks like squares with lines in between. Adhesive seems thinner too. More after I laminate and apply some.
  20. Whatcha know about 3M Print Film 40C-10R that replaced IJ40C

Been using IJ35C and IJ40C with good results. Went to order IJ40C yesterday and told discontinued and replaced with 3M Controltac Print Film 40C-10R and 40C-20R. The one attribute I hated about the IJ35 and IJ40 was the super aggressive adhesive that, at least I, could not snap up once it was...
