  5. It's that time of the year again!

Do Sherwin Williams carry that - I need to send the lad out for a couple of gallons. Much prefer 137C - a client dropped off a couple of half cases, when he collected a show we'd printed.
  6. It's that time of the year again!

Forcing folks to update their subscription to pant one, just because a customer who reads PR bull$hit, wants dusty tangerine as their new must have colour, priceless. Walasanbcwsp is what drink drives us to.
  7. Christmas tale

T'was once a client who said son This job'll be a fabulous one Bells and whistles all round No permits to be found And dollars, all my dollars are gone
  8. Question Storage for Sheet Materials

Can't wait to do before / after pics with our new move in the spring. Moving into a basement, just under 1100sq ft, ramp access to loading dock, and going to cover the production area with a whole heap of these bad boys. As soon as contractors are out of work area, time to build storage for...

Just make sure she doesn't blow a gasket and chop all them heavy rolls of material into manageable chunks. Best to avoid Elven safety goin mad.

  11. Replacing FB700 internal hard drive?

There have been many converstions on this topic in the fine art printing world. Mark Lindquist and Ernst Dinkla are quite knoledgable. They're concerned with the designjet 3100/3200 era printers and go into details on service and repair, including the HDD and formatter board...
  12. Test print page everyday app

http://colorremedies.com/realworldcolor/downloads/GrangerRainbow.tif.zip Obviously download at your own peril (double file extension, from a website that has not been active for a while), but the site http://colorremedies.com/realworldcolor/downloads.html was set up by arguably some of the best...
  13. Test print page everyday app

Try an application called Qimage https://www.ddisoftware.com/qimage-u/ - I believe this allows you to schedule test prints (I only use it to print colour calibration charts for my little minilab printer). I'd recommend a granger rainbow file, to exercise all nozzles...
  14. Your Physical Health

Modern weed is way more powerful than back in my youth. Haven't touched it for a couple of decades, but I do still miss the rituals of rolling. Slightly intrigued by a client who extols the virtues of microdosing shrooms - they were always far gentler than acid.
  15. Quality of Large Prints- Wall Graphics

Old rule used to be an A3 artwork for a 48 sheet poster (across the street at 30mph). Now we've got giant on (rail) platform posters athat require way more resolution. Your Shutterstock etc may be good enough at sensible viewing distance, but now you're able to provide your client with larger...
  16. 2023 wrapup

Moving to a new premises in the spring, larger workspace, with time to plan storage, and space to upgrade facilities. Room to bring on one, then two apprentices, so I can take a week off without having to do two weeks work the week before, and two weeks work the week after. Getting control of...
  17. Your Physical Health

Covid regime helped us bring people into the world of appointments (just like all the barbor shops around me now do). Walks ins are frowned upon. Music not talk, yep, hate listening to political voices on the way in, and have a decent set of speakers around the production area. I let amazon...
  18. Looking for slitter recommendations

The video down at the tail end of the page, just before frequently bought together section. Yep, price does look good, real good, and I like the idea that tilt for transport and storage is built in, but the instructional video is next level.
  19. Looking for slitter recommendations

That looks so wrong, and yet, wow. Ya gotta have a look at the lamination table - the video for this operation is mindblowing!
  20. Lamanites for Acrylic

I'd get hold of a relatively inexpensive roller laminator. Flood coat some white 3mm PVC with something like Drytac Mediatac, then apply this to the back of the print. If the face is not protected, I'd apply the PVC to the back using a small brayer roller.
