  1. Ready for a printer

For what it's worth, i thought i would want a print/cut machine too. I ended up with a Roland, and it works great. In hindsight, however, I wish I had purchased 2 separate machines. A standalone printer, and a standalone cutter. The Roland does OK at cutting, but I recently checked out a...
  2. I'm in a bind! 54" down - Need outsource

I think i found someone to help, thanks all!
  3. I'm in a bind! 54" down - Need outsource

I'm down to my 30" printer until my new mainboard shows up for my VP540... I have 2x prints @ 36" x 84" that i really do not want to piece in those extra 6" and they need done within the next few days. Anyone that'd be willing to print/lam/ship this as an outsource would be a life saver...
  4. SP-300 manuel release to move print head.

I just go into cap / wiper control in service menu and lower the caps. Then a slight nudge of the head carriage to the right will release it.
  5. For all you shops that bring the pooch to work

My dog loves coming to the shop with me... but no matter how much we clean, there's always that one dog hair floating around that seems to end up between my lam and print! :banghead:
  6. Back Window Advice

You need to incorporate that rust streak somehow :) Looks kinda like mud running down the back of the door.
  7. I hate GoDaddy

I hate godaddy hosting as well. Their domain registration and hosted DNS is great... but their hosting is garbage. I've tried (not joking) somewhere around 30 different hosts. Inmotion has been the best so far, but even they cant seem to hang onto their promised 99.9% uptime. I've got a nice...
  8. Media feet disaster

So my SP540 was printing away happily, when i heard the dreaded mid-print beeping from the other room. Ran in, and somehow one of the media feet that clip on next to the pinch rollers had come off, jammed into the frame of the print head carriage, wedging it solid against the cutter strip/heat...
  9. So it has come to my attention that....

I'm trying to understand how you would expect a positive reaction to your ranting and name calling, regardless of the profession of the respondent. You could come in here and claim to be the sole origin of all sign making, but if you're on your high horse like that, nobody will care. What do...
  10. Dot Matrix Prints?

I'm using Illustrator CS5.5, so the context of the menus may differ for you. As an example, i'm just going to do a simple lateral halftone pattern. 1) Draw a solid object (square, circle, whatever) and apply a gradient fill. 2) Select the object and go to "Effect" -> "Pixelate" -> "Color...
  11. any computer gurus on here?

Judging from the back-and-forth so far, it sounds like you may need to hire someone with know-how to get you back going again.
  12. Dot Matrix Prints?

I have an AI for you... it's over 1mb so i cant attach it here, and i know they frown upon external links for images, not sure about an ai. Shoot me a PM and i'll email it to you.

We've all received something like this. If you have one you can safely share... post it! Always fun to see the final product too.
  18. How do you find good employees?

Is this where we apply? :) I'm 30yrs old, there are 12" in a foot, 32ft^2 in a 4x8 sheet of whatever, 2.5cm / inch, I am decent at 2D Autocad, illustrator, photoshop, flexi, etc. I grew up working in a welding shop building trailers, so if metal fabrication is a plus... woot. Right now i'm a...
  19. hand pinstriping

Sad thing is, that guy is probably getting paid jack squat to do that. He'd rake it in over here!
