  2. Allegra/Image 360/Signs Now Network

I work at an Image 360 franchise that's part of Allegra/Signs Now network. Just looking to see if any other members here are apart of our network as we do a lot of internal business with a few shops.
  3. Grimco and Orafol

I was just talking to my sales rep, Erin, earlier about them needing to carry vinyl and she said something might be in the works. Good to know something may materialize!

  7. What makes your shop FUN?

    Are you hiring? Lmao.
  8. How to avoid scuffs/scratches from squeegee??

I also use the GeekWrap orange/double suede. They are great but you always want to use them wet as they will trap dirt/dust and that's what will cause the scratches when dry. With most scratches on wraps you can just reheat the area to polish them out. But definitely a pain if it's all over the...
  9. What makes your shop FUN?

Lmao! I hope bob fires back with some epic raps.
  10. A few hand lettered signs from the vault

As a youngster who has it easy with all the technology of today, I truly appreciate seeing this type of work because it's just in a league of it's own. These are beautiful.
  11. Prepping / Cleaning Polycarbonate

Alcohol is great, another product I've used is alcohol based and has anti-static properties called Plastic Prep from Matthews Paint. It's pretty amazing. As long as the bubbles aren't too high pressure they should go away after a day or two. I will generally lay vinyl wet on lexan/poly, even...
  12. New member from South Africa!

Welcome! One of our suppliers is from SA, he's awesome!
  13. Value of a vinyl installer? Wrapper?

I too have the same experience you do + CNC routing experience. However, at my last shop was where I came in sweeping the floor and barely knew anything besides basic vinyl. Unfortunately I was always treated as the "young" guy, no matter how much money I saved them or got their $80K...
  14. What makes your shop FUN?

Ha! Bob, I'm rather impressed by your ability to use 5 dollar words, but you can't bring me back down to earth, because I'm higher than your average squirt since birth, and I'll flow so sick, I'll leave your lips blue, like you was eating Smurfettes poo. I can burp a spectacular vernacular...
  15. sign maker joke..

When I was in LA at the Improv, Ben Bailey (Cash Cab guy) did about 10 minutes on "Please use other door" signage and other annoying signs. It was hilarious. I hope it's on Youtube somewhere.
  16. TeckWrap Chrome or Avery

Fwiw, I have printed on white reflective (Oracal 5500) (Got tired of the slow Gerber Edge) and it comes out beautiful, with every color appearing reflective. I'll have to try the chrome now! Great idea on the laminating, I'm sure the price still comes out cheaper than a lot of the higher end...
  17. What makes your shop FUN?

I'm 25 but I grew up watching Nick@Night and actually got it from I Love Lucy. But I do love TPB and that makes the names extra hilarious to me now. Lmao. Because that's how they act sometimes. I constantly have music in my headphones, but having a shop speaker setup is one of my goals for when...
  18. What makes your shop FUN?

I have always been a big believer in having a FUN work environment, positive mind positive grind. Here's some things I do. -My two printers names are Lucy (L25500) and Ricky (HP360). -I make designs (usually jersey looking numbers) on my shirt with pre cut tape pieces for prints. -Our plotter...
  19. Lifespan of a shop mug

I have just made the switch from coffee to unsweet tea for my caffeine after going with no caffeine yesterday. Felt like I never woke up.
  20. Standard Masking Tape - Whatcha Use?

I keep tape on my shirt sometimes, always try to make it look like a number or something like a jersey, everybody gets a kick out of it.
