You could get a roller applicator table instead of a laminator.
We have a Rolls Roller which hooks up to a compressor so you can change the application pressure for lamnating vs applying/masking. The table also lights up and has a cutting mat. It's all we use to laminate. That way at least it's...
99% of the vehicle vinyl we produce is advertising. Not decorative.
I was under the impression that wraps (for a paint-like finish) were more of a specialized area. Not necessarily a part of the signs-for-advertising sector of the industry. I would understand if a company like that stocked...
I don't really see why it has to be an issue at all. For us it's like any other cut-vinyl order. If I got an order for some matte black vinyl I would just price it out with the usual markup + design/setup/labor or whatever like any other job. I tell the customer it may be on back order and take...
We use Eco Solvent inks so if you are using the same then most manufacturers will have a translucent print vinyl. It's hard to suggest because it depend on what you're willing to pay. We use Trustock vinyl but I think it's exclusive to our supplier Proveer...Trustock only has one option for...
I'd like to see the glossary. When I started out here the shop guys threw around all kinds of terms that were "thisclose" to being right...and I get some funny versions from customers all the time. It would be nice to post a glossary on our website like....
Coreplas = Coroplast
Chloroplast =...
Late 20's here....and I completely agree with this. I would say phone calls are my least favorite form of communication because they interrupt my work flow. Sometimes though you need to speak to someone directly to get your point across properly so you have to be flexible.
Following any verbal...
It blows me away that anyone thinks it's not worth the money. We laminate and apply everything with our roller. It is invaluable to us. Gets the job done in less than half the time.
You can always make the argument that "some pros" suck at graphic design....that's not really a useful point. Neither is bringing up what a "top poster" on the site decided to do with the same advice...how is that even relevant? There will always be people with more or less skill than others...
Just me but I've always found the "Stand back and eye it out" technique to be risky because like I said in my last post...if the ground you are standing on or the vehicle is parked on isn't level you're screwed.... If you use vehicle lines to line up then you can always argue that point. If you...
We always use the wheel well line for line up because no matter what, the wheel wells are at the same level. If the ground isn't level or the suspension isn't even at least the wheel wells are a constant.
Wondering how long unlaminated prints will last outdoors.
We print on vinyl and apply to substrate. Roland Eco solvent inks.
I almost always laminate prints unless it's for very temporary, indoor signage like a presentation cheque for a press conference or a one-day event sign.
I was asked to...
The issue is that OP thinks that he's just going to "get" how to design just based on some critique, tips and tricks that he's going to get from this forum. The fact is that it can't fully be expressed in just a few short sentences all of the things you can do right or wrong when it comes to...
What you don't know could fill a book couldn't it?
fyi...your ignorance is showing. I don't have to defend my advice. Least of all to someone of lesser skill and knowledge. I should point out as well that I'm not the OP so why not address that persons question instead of attacking my sound...
