  1. Wacom Intuos3 Tablet feedback

YES! The the main reason i got one - Intuos 2/single 21" monitor - was to recover my right arm. My wrist was shot, elbow was tingling and had a walnut sized knot on my back from too many years of mouse illustration. It took me about 6-8 months to get the wrist back in shape and remove the knot...

1/2 hour mornings before work 1/2 hour noonish for lunch 1/2-2 hours after work in 15-45 minute increments - depending on what you rascals are up to. ...and odd weekend here and there --- when I've got a project i don't want to do. Always logged on at least one computer, though...

Nice work all! and that poor cat... I love it!
  8. Putting on an outline in illustrator

You're working with a bitmap image that has no vector data. You'll need to trace what you want to cut. You can do that in PS, AI, or CDR. The easiest for me, would be to create and clean up the vector path in Photoshop --- renaming the path from "Work Path" to "Clip" and tagging it as a...
  9. Coming out of lurk mode

Wow, based on the posts this week, it sure seems like a tough day for a newbie to come out of lurk mode... May God Bless you! The one I went to was at a winery... and a great lunch. I was surprised by the volume of information and organization of material --- and lack of sales pitch. I...
  10. Intellectual Property and Signs 101

:thumb: I think the sign professionals on this board exhibit a level of expertise and experience that leaves little doubt on their stand on intellectual property rights. The majority are qualified to set their own gray area level of tolerance for real and/or perceived infringements and offer...
  11. joining objects in AI

Becareful with that. It adds an unfilled, unstroked box in your holes --- like the inside of the letter "O". You'll need to find and delete those to avoid any double cuts on the plotter.
  12. Importing ai files into corelx3

What's your trick? I haven't had much success w/CS3 and I haven't seen or tried CS2... so CS works the best for us. I still get quirkie things happening every once in a while with fills and transparencies. We bought the CS3 design suite to make sure everything stays the way it should.
  13. Roland Take Up System

The only draw back with I've found is the take -up reel resets after every job. When we first got it, I was thinking we could run larger jobs overnight --- saving them individually in the Versaworks print queue until 5:00 and then hitting "print" on multiple jobs. Instead, we load multiple...
  14. Type is Sexy!!!

    thank you.
  15. RM Longhorn logo

Does this work RM Williams? I bought a RM Williams shirt on a visit to Oz a few years back. Still my favorite shirt --- although very faded, it's still in one piece. My wife still wears her boots once in a while... She had a hard time finding a comfy pair of boots because of a high instep...
  16. What Color Palette doe you use

:thumb: Typical of our workflow, we've got 3 palettes open in coreldraw. A translucent, a cast and a calendared palette that we've developed to match the vinyls we use. This has worked well for us in offering more accurate proofs to the customer. Then too, as the jobs are archived, there...

  19. Corel Question

Is he openning or importing the EPS file? Typically OPEN rather than import works for us. They're getting the JPG preview that is created when you export from Flexi.
  20. need help creating graduated dot screen

doah!.. nice tip. That same filter is a available in Illustrator and I've used it to some degree of sucess there. I didn't think to look for it in Photoshop (duh). Thanks for the slap on the noggin ...it's much easier to break out and change colors using channels in PS that way.
