  1. Suggestions for good cutter art

Whoa, I guess allcompu.com huh? ;-) Unfortunately, reasonable in my mind was like $99 or less for the lot. I was a little shocked when I clicked through to the pricing. Thanks though guys for the feedback. Maybe I can find them on FleaBay sometime or a similar package that is within my realm.
  2. Suggestions for good cutter art

Looking to buy some good quality, reasonably priced image sets. Anyone have a favorite package(s) they use?
  3. SIGNWarehouse is our newest Merchant Member

Welcome onboard, good to have you here. I used SIGNwarehouse as my vendor for my recent Graphtec 5000 and Oracal vinyl supply purchases. Happy thus far. My only gripe might be how they ship vinyl. The vinyl I received from Feller's came in a nice box with centering ends that lets the roll...
  4. How to "fill" outline of text

As dumb as it sounds becuase I can't figure out how to get it to cut one color for the text and then cut the contour in a different color. I've only been using this program for a week so I'm grasping at straws here. ;-)
  5. How to "fill" outline of text

Geary's technique gave me the results I was looking for. Thanks a bunch. "If it took me 2 hours to do I would have tossed everything out the window" I heard that. For the past 15 or so years I have used raster based design software exclusively. In that program I could have accomplished the...
  6. How to "fill" outline of text

    I'm using the Flexi8
  7. How to "fill" outline of text

I created some text and use the outline tool to surround it. What I want is to be able to have the back (black) piece of vinyl solid with no cutouts for the text or the space within the letters. I've spent 2 hours and I'm about to give up. See below for a visual description of what I get and...
  8. Movie themed fonts free

Anyone use a favorite (free) font organization program? I used to have one, but now I can't find it or remember the name.
  9. Recommendations - Graphtec CE5000-60 vs Roland Camm-1 Servo GX-24

"My response is always what's better Ford or Chevy?" Ford, of course, but I digress. :Cool 2: To answer the OP's question I just purchased a cutter after researching for a long, long time. I went with Graphtec CE-5000. So far everything is going very well.
  10. hello to all

Dang it Ken you beat me to it. I've wanted to move to AU since I was old enough to know where it is. As funny as it is the first graphic I printed on my Graphtec was a Roo. It is on my window here. ;-) Anyway, welcome Heather!
  11. Any input? Graphtec CE5000 questions

    - Is there a way to move the carriage all the way to the left quickly? The reason I ask is after I cut a graphic I cut it off the roll by running the little knife they gave me down the channel in from of the cutting strip. It would a lot easier if I could get the the head out of the way all...
  12. New Graphtec is here! Setting blade is taxing me.

Thanks for all the great responses. I haven't changed anything except what they told me to in the manual to get it set up (blade adjustment, force, etc) I have it at offset -1 and force 17 and it seems to cutting perfectly now on some graphics I cut last night. I'm struggling to learn...
  13. New Graphtec is here! Setting blade is taxing me.

I'm certain it is some setting I don't have dialed in perfectly. I've cut a few text signs and it looks fantastic. For grins I ran the test cut on offsets from -5 to +5. -1 produces the best looking cut on mine. Let me ask this. I am struggling a bit to understand the relationship between the...
  14. New Graphtec is here! Setting blade is taxing me.

I'm gonna play some more. Basically what I was seeing is 2 corners of the test triangle are not as "sharp" on the third. Hard to explain. The corners of the test square are good. I'll post a photo if I can't get it. Thanks for the help
  15. New Graphtec is here! Setting blade is taxing me.

Who-hoo, new cutter is here. Got the stand assembled and the cutter installed on top of it. Having a bit of an issue getting the blade set correctly however. I may ask for your expert help. Would a nice scan of the test cut results give you fellas any hints to what I am doing incorrectly?
  16. Graphtec CE5000-60 from SignWarehouse, should I be scared?

My original question, and the intent of this thread, have been answered so we should probably let it die now. I ended up with enough trust in SW to order from them. Will I be happy about that? As of now I have no reason not to be and I sincerely believe if I have an issue it will get resolved...
  17. Got R Done!!!

That's awesome. Some day perhaps I'll have a printer as well.
  18. Graphtec CE5000-60 from SignWarehouse, should I be scared?

Well, I think I have answered my own question and that answer is a resounding NO. I ordered my Graphtec 5000 this morning along with some starter supplies. Bob Allen was my salesman and I am pleased with the outcome thus far. It is always difficult to determine if any salesman is...
  19. This may be one of the "Noobiest" questions ever asked ;-)

"What is it that has turned you off Corel ?" Years ago I purchased and attempted to use Corel. From the stacks of manuals and reference guides on my bookshelf behind me looks like it was Version 4. I found it to be difficult to understand, unintuitive and frustrating. Is it fair for me to...
