yeah i guess the gerber edge is getting phased out. we sold ours like 4 years ago just because we weren't using it any more but it was a hell of a machine. that was our first digital print machine we bought back in 2001 or 2002.
thing owed us nothing. good luck
try that we had an issue i forget what it was but once we cleaned that it was fine. i have to say roland really crapped the bed with the truvis line in my opinion. we had one of the first models and it was nothing but headaches for almost 3 years. they finally got the printing issues resolved...
yeah looks like an alignment issue. you can try to do the manual alignments first. there are 2 tests you can do and adjustments after that like already mentioned you will need a tech .
we traded our truvis in so can't really show you (that machine was a lemon since the day we got it)
they can be etched, silk screened or metal photo process.
hard to tell for sure but looking at the photo they look metalphoto process. (when you look at the black it looks like it's absorbed in the metal, you can see the brush pattern )
we do that in house. we can do .003, .005 foil

white ink whether solvent or UV needs to be shaken daily and if not used you need to run the ink to keep the head firing properly. i actually created a white box approx 4" x the length of whatever material is loaded in the printer that i run every 3-5 days of non-use on the white ink. this helps...
unfortunately these crazy unexplained things happen but it sounds like it's a drying or curing issue with the ink (or the amount of ink). maybe try doing 1 pass, return to origin, let it dry a little longer then print again with 1 pass. see if that helps/works. hope you get it worked out
we can print direct to acrylic and cut it but we are in NJ. not sure what your quantity is but shipping might be expensive.
i would suggest trying to find some one local with a flatbed printer first
by pass do you mean return to origin and reprint or are you doing an over print?
i have seen this with the white ink when i would do multiple pass and the previous pass was not dry yet
maybe it's just too much ink and that's the effect?
why aren't you direct printing to the panels with your UV...
cheapest way is to print direct to the acrylic.
you can print on clear and then mount to the acrylic but you will probably need to also back with white vinyl for opacity .
reverse/backwards print on clear vinyl, mount white vinyl then mount to the acrylic panels
WHEN YOU ARE PRINTING CMYK GRAYS WILL BE AN ISSUE, AT LEAST THAT HAS BEEN MY EXPERIENCE.
ROLAND HAS A COLOR CHART BASED ON WHAT THE MACHINE CAN PRINT SO I USE THEIR GRAYS AND THAT GIVES ME THE BEST SHOT.
WE RECENTLY GOT A MIMAKI JVC-330 AND WE ARE STILL GETTING FAMILIAR WITH THE MACHINE SO NOT...
i think it's just because it's metallic. metallic doesn't hold up as long as regular colored cast vinyl.
especially if it experiences extreme weather conditions (heat, sun and cold)
