  1. L26500 Waves

I have found that the L26500 is the perfect banner machine. Now I just need to find the perfect banner. I have had samples from about every manufacture. I like Bantex the best, but they have the shortest shelf life. I am currently using Grimco's Forward banner. It is the best I have found...
  2. PMS color on HP Latex Machine FAIL!

You can turn on the Use Spot color replacement table and send the colour over from your illustrator file as the PMS colour and it should be close. The printer is ok at hitting most PMS colours, but the Use Spot Color Replacement Table must be check marked.
  3. L26500 Drying issue or ....?

We see it in the 8518 laminate quite often. It's not uncommon. Usually heat will take it out. The last 200" of the rolls are the worst.
  4. Do you care if your suppliers become your competitors?

I really don't care. I have had people tour our shop, start their own business, then still send us work. I guess they can't figure it out or just don't want to. Yes, we have probably lost some business, but did you really want to keep what went away?
  5. I laughed so hard I almost peed!

I'm glad to her that you have those customers up north also. Down here I tell them how to get to Wal-mart and have them ask the greater what aisle the custom graphics are located on. :thumb:
  6. Sieko Colorpaint 64

Check with your RIP manufacture. Onyx has a driver that will work with windows 7 for the HP9000. Not sure about the colorpainter. I would think it would be harder to aquire the SCSI card.
  7. HP L26500 banding in black

I have added an 8 inch test pattern that fires all printheads before I print. It makes sure all heads and heaters are up to a good operating temp before the actual print begins. We also print everything in 10 pass or higher. Nothing else gives us the quality we want to be associated with.
  8. Hello and an overture for a bit of help

Hello from North Carolina. We have 2 of those units running now. When we moved ours, we didn't dismantle them. We went from one building to a Uhaul truck to the next building. Granted, we were only down maybe 4-5 hours, but it went well. As for the dried printheads, good luck. You can...
  9. Looking to buy a new printer!

If things are going well now, why not just sub out any print jobs?
  10. GLOSS or MATTE? Which Do You Prefer?

I think we just need to keep working on them. I ask them about once a quarter where they stand on it.
  11. GLOSS or MATTE? Which Do You Prefer?

We use IJ180cV3-10 with 8518 from 3M. It does good for us, but our printers like the -20 finish (matte). I keep asking 3M when they are going to produce an IJ180cV3-20. The combination of IJ40c-20R and the 8518 has an outstanding pop to it.
  12. Durst P10/Oce Arizona/Hp Fb

HP FB700 Are you able to get solid colors especially the difficult ones like dark RED, blues, greens and blacks without the common UV banding? Yes, but machine will run really slow. About ½ of posted speed. Can you print styrenes .020, .030 without head strikes because of the heat? .020...
  13. hp 10000s print problem. HELP

We have 2 9000s here. We had a similar issue with magenta and cyan. You might try replacing the O-rings at the head and the filter. We ended up replacing both heads when we exhausted all the other options.
  14. HP L26500 Color Issues

My 2 cents. We have a L26500 and a LX800 in our shop. As for panel matching, good luck. We have found that the slightest variation of temperature or humidity effect these machines. We can usually achieve the panel to panel match, but if a panel has to be reprinted, there will be colour...
  15. High Ink - Day/Night Quality

Redfield, I also have a L26500. I won't use it yet for backlit unless I print to the translucent, then reverse print to clear as was stated in an earlier post. I have found that the latex will not allow the oversaturation of ink like the good old solvent machines do. I'm working on figuring...
  16. New Computers! Anyone have any preferred vendors?

Casey at Signburst has always been there for our computer needs. I wouldn't go anywhere else. He helps us before, during and after we have installed it. :thumb:
  17. High Ink - Day/Night Quality

I custom wrote a profile that is a little oversaturated and have had very good results printing on translucent. I use a HP9000s will ink limits around 305% and have had great results on MPI translucent on white acrylic. I use Oraguard optically clear as an overlaminate.
  18. Onyx Maximum Print area. Cant change. Help.

Add a custom media/page size. File/Printer manager then highlight the printer and press configure. There will be a tab that says page sizes. The add button will be on the right side.
  19. cut vinyl on awning?

There is a product specified for Sunbrella Fabrics. It is called SGS TDPF. It is available in white and new for this year black. The white is printable on most latex, solvent and eco-solvent machines. It should be available from the same people that you purchase your Sunbrella from. If not...
  20. Suggestions for retractable banner stand material?

Bigfish No sir, I haven't. What format printers will it work on? We have latex, solvet, uv and aqueous in house. We have tried the Pos Pro on all except the uv and had great results.
