I am currently having a smk #3 completed on our L26500. I had the HP technician complete the kit. Upon completion he had some difficulty bringing the machine back up. Currently waiting to see if this thing will come back to life.
Also check the O-rings on the dampers and the printhead. We just replaced a print head that did a perfect nozzle check, but couldn't print 6" of colour. I have also learned there is a damper inside the printhead that is not replaceable.
I'm running Onyx 10.something looking to upgrade to the new 11 or something else. Here's my PC specs. We don't really slow down to much. Dual Xeon 2.4 24 gb ram 256 gd ssd os drive 500 gb 10000 rpm dedicated onyx drive 1.5 tb 7200 rpm storage drives x2. We have an LX800, L26500, HP9000s x2...
We have 2 latex at our shop. LX800 and L26500. We also have 2 HP9000s. One of the 9000's needs a print head. We will be replacing it when it comes in. While the latex has it's +'s, I doubt we will be purchasing another any time soon. I've been looking at the H2 and M series Seiko machines...
Yes, that is what I did with ours. I have found that temperature, humidity and time of day all affect the colours on this beast. I can start a print and 1600" later, I can print the first file again and the colours will be different. I've been told that the heat generated by the printer...
Signburst or nothing in our shop. Yes, I can build ours also, but Casey is AWESOME!!! All the PC's in our shop have come from Signburst. I wouldn't even think about building one. :thumb:
I've found out that if I call a Voodoo witch to come bless our machine it prints better. If you'd like, I will contact her for you. I have also found that the latex machines aren't the best for matching previously printed colours. I just matched a solvent print from 4 years ago with my...
Also check the O-rings. I have one that prints a perfect test print, then hit print and she stutters a lot. In addition to the damper inline, there is also a damper in the print head. I have been told the only way to replace the print head damper is to purchase a new head. We have one...
I have seen it happen. We usually crop a test print out and check both inside and outside to make sure the greys don't turn green. Sometimes it is a profile mismatch causing the problem, sometimes we will need to rebuild the gradient. The lighting in your shop is probably like mine and will...
I am currently running the Extra Printhead Cleaning on our L26500. The printhead life has been extended from around 12-1300ml to about 18-2000 ml. We have had our L26500 for 1 1/2 years. When it's running correctly, it's great. But it can be like waking a grizzly bear from hibernation at...
I was looking at Ergosoft and Caldera and found that colour matching capabilities of Ergosoft would be better for our shop and save me some time. The colour matching is built into the RIP. It isn't an add on or something that needs to be purchased from another company. While PH has been...
Most RIP's can supply a 30 trial run. You might not be able to profile, but you could determine if the program would be friendly for you. I had a class last week and will be looking at the Ergosoft rip when time permits. I currently use Production House, but they seem to have fallen behind...
The 480 ran famously on our LX800 with the 600 series inks. I have been attempting to use some of it on our L26500. As you see attempting. I hope to attempt a profile for it soon. Maybe that will help. 3M tells me it's an HP problem, HP tells me it's a 3M problem. Go figure.
I have found that the Pop-up brand from Fellers doesn't really like ink saturation. I used one that I had written for the MetroMark material that worked fine.
I have been getting my HP9000 parts from Seiko. Our local Tubelite distributor has been able to get what I needed. A substantial saving from what HP charged.
I see that pattern on most "house brand" banners that we test here. If I see it on Ultraflex I send it back to the distributor for another roll. I am currently seeking a decent and consistent manufacture of banner. The HP banner will print phenomenally, but when I need to laminate the print...
We had problems with the 791 inkset ourselves. We did not go through our dealer to solve the issue. We called HP direct. I never did see a technical bulletin on this procedure. HP knew about the problem internally, but didn't admit to the problem publicly. The 791 inkset caused multiple...
