  1. Xc540 error

That is strange that it worked once and the did the service call again. Unless the motor is not working properly I think with the other parts you have tried it may be pointing to a board error
  2. Font Help Need help identifying this font!

If you use the Winner font would be a two minute job to add the little notches
  3. Need Help Corel X4 can no longer make an .eps file that Roland Versaworks will accept.

Try saving the artwork as a PDF instead, VW is normally fine with this. Or maybe downgrade your version of Corel. I use X3 and have never had a problem with VW accepting an EPS from it
  4. sp-540 Neither head fires at all after replacing manifold on black/cyan head

I agree, it is more likely to be the carriage board has failed if nothing is printing at all. Each colour has two transistors, one to turn the head on and one to turn it off, and it is very unusual for all of them to fail. There isnt really any way to test the carriage board though, it is a case...
  5. sp-540 Neither head fires at all after replacing manifold on black/cyan head

It could still be a transistor problem though, so I would test those next. It is a lot easier to do if you remove the board from the printer to do this
  6. sp-540 Neither head fires at all after replacing manifold on black/cyan head

OK that is good as they have power going to them. You need to check the print carriage board as well, this is where the ribbon cables from the print head plug into
  7. My Roland SP300i doesn't print black and cyan after replacing new print head

When you fit a new head it is always worth changing the cables as well as they are only cheap
  8. My Roland SP300i doesn't print black and cyan after replacing new print head

They are a legitimate seller and a member on the forum. Lots of people on here have bought heads from them. If you install the head carefully and follow all the steps in the service manual you should have no problem with it. Generally Epson heads either tend to work fine from new, or not at all...
  9. My Roland SP300i doesn't print black and cyan after replacing new print head

Although I have heard of people who have bought the cheap chinese heads, and they also had the magenta liquid but the heads didn't work !
  10. My Roland SP300i doesn't print black and cyan after replacing new print head

Epson test them with water based inks, then they use a magenta coloured solution in the head for when it is in storage before being sold. It's not oil though, it is just like water. The temperature too low message is what happens when a black head is faulty. The printer reads the head...
  11. My Roland SP300i doesn't print black and cyan after replacing new print head

That is a dodgy chinese seller, it is no wonder your head didnt work. I wouldnt have settled for a partial refund if it doesn't work! That is why it was half the price a working new print head would have cost. What they sold you is a used one they have flushed out that is untested and they just...
  12. sp-540 Neither head fires at all after replacing manifold on black/cyan head

The print carriage board is above the print head, the head cables run from the heads to the carriage board. The servo board is on top of the main board. If you have a multimeter testing the transistors is pretty easy, there are plenty of videos on youtube about how to do it and you don't need to...
  13. sp-540 Neither head fires at all after replacing manifold on black/cyan head

Did you power down, unplug and leave the printer for at least 15 minutes before removing the head cables? If not if the fuses didn't blow it could have caused damage to the transistors on the main board, or even the print carriage board. Did you check the tiny fuses on the main board? If you...
  14. My Roland SP300i doesn't print black and cyan after replacing new print head

If they are selling them at $500 CD they obviously aren't a legitimate local seller. My guess is the chinese 'refurbished' print heads !
  15. Sp300i Cutting Problem

There is a used one on Ebay at the moment in the UK. AFAIK you can't get them new from Roland anymore, and when you could they were very expensive !
  16. My Roland SP300i doesn't print black and cyan after replacing new print head

Where did you get a new head for $500 CD? Did you buy this from china, that is probably why it doesn't work. A new legit head would be more like $850 CD
  17. Sp300i Cutting Problem

It may be worth replacing the complete cutting carriage for one you know works then.
  18. My Roland SP300i doesn't print black and cyan after replacing new print head

Some people are very hard to try and help :/
  19. My Roland SP300i doesn't print black and cyan after replacing new print head

If the head is faulty internally there is no way you can repair them. I have taken apart faulty ones so know how they are made inside, and there is nothing you can do to fix them. Reading with a multimeter won't tell you anything useful. You can read all the resistors on top of the head, but...
  20. My Roland SP300i doesn't print black and cyan after replacing new print head

No, you can't remove the circuit boards from the heads, the heads are made as one unit so can't be taken apart
