  1. Suggestions re-installing stud mounted acrylic lettering

A paint marker is brilliant! I've done it that way with a red Stabilo too and enough wax comes off to show where the hole is.
  2. Suggestions re-installing stud mounted acrylic lettering

If it's not a custom font, I would recreate the layout on the computer and space it the way it should be and then pen plot or print just the outlines of the letters. After that, take a really short set of studs and letter by letter, thread them into the backs, lay them over the pattern and...
  3. How do you measure the exact size of a sign that is high up in the air?

Very inexpensive and no recurring costs to use time and time again. Good enough to get a pretty accurate measurement for at least quoting purposes. https://www.boschtools.com/us/en/boschtools-ocs/laser-measuring-glm165-40-187965-p/
  4. Vacuum error troubleshooting

If you initiate an End of Day Clean and check the heads after not printing for more than 4-6 hours are any of the heads (especially the magenta!) weeping or oozing ink? Does your head access plate have ink on it after the same length of time?
  5. ACM Panels - Ink Adhesion Primer Suggestions?

I've noticed that the residue off the liner on the panels doesn't completely dissolve and fully removed with just alcohol but the second wipe with the hotter wax/degreaser seems to really get to it well. What about reverse printing on clear acrylic and placing the printed side on the back side...
  6. ACM Panels - Ink Adhesion Primer Suggestions?

I seriously doubt you'd find any type of ACM panels in that length in one piece. If your supplier doesn't carry the digital print option material, a two part cleaning process starting with 90-99% isopropyl alcohol followed by automotive wax/degreaser solution will clean a standard panel as...
  7. Need Help Is my head gone?

I'm not sure what the default is but it seems like its about every 4-6 hours. In our case, it was not changing the captop springs when replacing the dampers and captops a few months ago that was the culprit.
  8. Need Help Is my head gone?

We were gone for a little over a week during the holidays and when we returned the yellow on our vp-540 was missing a full channel. I had recently changed the dampers and captops, but lo and behold, I didn't use the new captop springs on the yellow. I did several head soaks, deep cleanings...
  9. ACM What is it?

A couple of well designed retractable banners can really be effective and regardless of the shape and size of the booth, are easily moved, stored and adjusted for maximum visibility.
  10. Vacuum error troubleshooting

When you did your purge, did you also purge the overflow line that is the farthest to the right after the ink line purge valves? I think its a white valve. If ink overflows and fills that line, it backs up into the vacuum lines and inhibits the check valves from doing their job properly.
  11. ACM What is it?

It comes in 3mm (1/8") as standard with a solid polyethylene core. The thicker depths are usually fluted like coroplast but much thicker. It is sometimes used as architectural panels. A few brands sell 1/4" with a solid core. It cuts really nicely into custom shape with a scroll saw and fine...
  12. WTF? Cannot remember this font.

Thanks! Benguiat Frisky Bold is the ticket! This is where conveying to employees the importance of keeping an editable copy of EVERY job in the archives really helps save time and frustration. Hard drive storage is dirt cheap and we have multiple terrabytes worth of space as well as offsite...
  13. WTF? Cannot remember this font.

Total brain fart on this one.
  14. Check the Price of ACM before you bid

If American corporate leaders are losing all these sales opportunities, how is it that our GDP has remained fairly steady year after year since globalization has started even though our percentage of the global GDP has steadily dropped? Its probably because they have their fingers in so many...
  15. Check the Price of ACM before you bid

Just checked our supplier and a 4'x8' sheet of 5 year ACM has gone up less than $6 per sheet over the last two years time.
  16. Car magnets falling off when cold?

I'm with you. Most water heaters are insulated to the point where the outside of the shell is not usually very warm.
  17. xc 540 head issue and ink cartridge question

Please share what exactly fixed these problems, Thanks
  18. Damn sun

Cleveland is not considered a high UV intensity latitude. Regardless of where you are located, it's critical to choose the best process and substrates for the client's needs, budget and durability expectation. One way to enhance longevity on your direct print work is to use colors fortified...
