  1. LOADED question: What do you charge for printing?

I have some cheap corporate customers and generous corporate customers. Then you have tightwads who work at the generous corps, they throw me for a loop. The industry a customer is in seems to have more bearing on their attitude than anything else.
  2. Outbid by competition - fight or flight?

On the flipside, people spent 2 years being bent over a barrel by contractors and suppliers. Now availability has loosened a bit and they're treading carefully.
  3. ACM OUTSIDE

A box out of ACM? It'll probably be garbage.
  4. Outbid by competition - fight or flight?

Gino tried to sell him the used Mexican restaurant sign he had in the dumpster and a drawer full of Chinese takeout menus from his desk drawer.
  5. Not Really Surprise...

Copyrights, trademarks and patents are nothing but a game of who has more money. I'd say this will become interesting but it won't. The big boys will battle about who owns what yet they never actually created anything themselves.
  6. Not Really Surprise...

I agree with you, just pointing out the hypocrisy. Jack Daniels feels differently and I also think this is nonsense. Maybe apples and oranges but it seems similar in my eyes. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-65043219
  7. Not Really Surprise...

What I don't get is why are these big companies able to get away with scouring the web stealing other people's work in the name of AI collaboration but these same big companies are the first to sue anyone that uses their work without permission.
  8. Running wires for signs that are above the ceiling line

Yeah, that's too many penetrations. Good way to rot out a ceiling. The whole point of a membrane system is to have no penetrations, then the sign guy comes along and drills a million holes in it.
  9. Outbid by competition - fight or flight?

I'm trying to visualize this sign that gnubler was gonna make that could be done profitably and still leave $1500 on the table.
  10. Not Really Surprise...

    Wildwest, what's Adobe doing?
  11. Not Really Surprise...

So who said, hold his tail while I take a picture of his butthole? They must be from Texas.
  12. Outbid by competition - fight or flight?

You pay me with Keystone and I'm gonna put your sign on upside down.
  13. Custom Reflective Engine Turn Lettering...again.

I don't see it. If it is done by hand then each job should be unique somewhat but it should still be linear? You're worried about matching a pattern to make it look the same but are contemplating some hacky type workaround that will look nowhere like real engine turn? No offense, I just don't...
  14. Custom Reflective Engine Turn Lettering...again.

Why don't you just use actual engine turn vinyl? You can get it about anywhere
  15. Computerized Cutters for channel letters, Beware

Nothing wrong with a Pinto although I'd prefer a Gremlin.
  16. Computerized Cutters for channel letters, Beware

We buy municipal trucks all of the time that are said to not run. 9 times out of 10 there is nothing wrong with them. Sometimes it is just batteries but they don't want to waste the time to get them started. We've been buying and selling trucks for 13 years and never had any major repairs...
  17. Morgue cart/cadaver carrier cover wrap. where to get and will it last with hospital cleaning/chemicals

For as much as they charge they can't be bothered to buy a new one for each person? Doesn't seem very honorable to be draped in the same $20 cloth as the last guy that died.
  18. Thoughts on sharing vector wrap files...

Something to keep in mind, racing is a hobby and an expensive one at that. They choose to do it and have the extra cash to make it happen. There is no reason why anyone else needs to subsidize someone else's play time. There are people out there that will keep taking and taking until you put...
  19. Fb500 shop vac

Step down should work without any real worries but based on the stuff I have here at my shop, the controllers only switch 1 leg of the 240. Even if it did both, you would have physically removed the second and put it on the neutral so power would still be switched. Don't get me wrong here, I'm...
  20. Fb500 shop vac

I'm not familiar with the printer but if you open the panel, it may already have a neutral and 120v setup in it. If you have a neutral bar, you should be able to move the unswitched vac hot wire to it and then you would have 120. If it's plugged into an outlet inside the machine, change it...
