The ink definitely shouldn't come off like that. Does it always "flake/chip" off or does it "smear" off? If it smears or is oily at all, then it is not curing fully.
- What kind of environment (temp & humidity) is the printer in?
- Check your optimizer limits too. [Test on the front panel...
We sure are some lame nerdy folks aren't we? How many times have you scratched at a sign in a gas station bathroom or pointed out to your significant other "hey that's my sign"?

Install technique help
You'll want to do a lot of this with your hands (cotton gloves) as opposed to a squeegee. For example, push/set your vinyl on the top of the curve with your finger so that you can work on the curve independently of the top flatter portion.
Simplify the issue
They probably wanted to save money so they didn't buy the highest resolution version of the image. I bet their is a higher res version available for purchase on whatever stock photo website they bought it.
100dpi (even 72 dpi) for a wall mural "should" work.

Dually's
You can definitely do the fenders as one piece. I would recommend doing it as 1 piece so you don't need to fight with lining up tiles on a crazy curve like that. I've done 50-100 wraps on Ford & Chevy dually's. I've tiled them before, but it makes it ugly and ends up being a lot...
Just don't get Royal Sovereign
Royal Sovereign sucks. Whatever you do stay away from Royal Sovereign. I can't stress to you how much they suck.
I would rather use sandpaper toilet paper after a 30 mile bike ride than be stuck with their crap any longer. I am yet to hear a good review of any...
Material: Avery MPI 1005 (Wrap Film)
Printer: HP L360 (OEM Inks)
I've printed on this material before with good results, but all of a sudden I'm getting white spots where the ink isn't going down. It looks as if the temperature is too high. I've tried lowering curing temp super low and it...
Anyone figure this out?
I have been running into de-lamination issues with a variety of medias on my HP 360. I've noticed the issue is worse on printed areas, but also happens in the white areas of media that I run through my printer. I can actually pull the laminate away from the media. In...
My illustrator file (pdf) shows dimensions of "97" x 26"
Onyx shows dimensions 26.56" x 97.89"
My pdf doesn't have any bleed in it. Just wondering if anyone has any ideas why this would be different?
DO NOT REMOVE THE HARDWARE. Wrap ontop and use the rolle pro. This really shouldn't add that much additional time to the install. Removing the hardware is going to set you up for all kinds of issues & more time, plus depending on the graphic; you don't want the bare hardware to show.

Clean w/ alcohol
Also, you should clean it with Alcohol. That's the safest and most effective. If you ever get it where it is still kind of not coming off or "ghosting", draw all over it with a dry erase marker and then wipe it off, it helps to re-wet the baked on dry erase and makes it...
Defective lam; Prob. from laminator pressure
Looks like the laminator wasn't putting enough pressure. That's not caused by the wrong pens or even cleaning solutions. It could be that the lam wasn't pressed down enough and cleaning solutions got between the vinyl and laminate. I'd hit up...
I had a tech come out and adjust the pressure on my rollers. He got the sides to be even (reading of 10 I'm guessing ft./lbs?) and the center was way low at like 4. No matter what he did he couldn't get it even. So, I'm stuck with a POS laminator that isn't pressing my lam down hard enough...
Non-Taxable & Taxable
Installation and service is non-taxable. The labor that goes into making the sign/design is taxable.
"Tax applies to charges for producing, fabricating, or processing tangible personal property for your customers."
So we always add a separate line item for...
I know you can do "segmented" plotting with cut master 3, but can you do it with CutServer and Onyx 11.2?
It makes the segmented crop marks, but doesn't plot it in sections like it should. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks,
Go Team!
Even XML has dimensions correct
When I open the XML cut file in notepad it shows the file at the correct size, but when open in CutServer, it is showing way too big. WTF onyx?
Fridays suck in the sign business. I loathe Fridays.
Any Help?
I'm using Onyx 11.
- I'm sending a cut contour file that is 18x24".
- It rips and prints at 18x24" and adds the graphtec crop marks. So the size to the outside of the crop marks is aprox. 19.5" x 25.5" or whatever.
- I open CutServer for contour cutting and it says the file being 40" x...
We have a Royal Sovereign laminator that is about 1.5 years old. Minimal use before I started working here. The rollers seem bowed in the middle, so they are not putting enough pressure in the middle when mounting substrates. Also, it doesn't seem to put enough pressure when we laminate...
hmm.... All my latex printers are much better as far as smell goes than any solvent I've used.
I've used HP 25500, 26500, and 360 and all work and smell much better than solvent. Solvent sucks. I'll never go back to solvent.
As for metallic and white ink. You are asking a lot out of your...
