Epson test the heads by printing with a water based ink. They then put a magenta coloured solution in to them that protects the heads while being stored, so that is probably what you are seeing. Are you getting magenta ink to the head where the print is missing?

It really depends why they are missing. If they are dead, then its time for a new head. A 24 hour head soak may help so is worth trying at this point. Often once nozzles have got to the point where they are clogged enough to not fire, there isn't a great deal you can do

Even a couple of bad nozzles can really effect the print, either by altering the colours or causing fuzziness etc..

If it is draining straight away it is normally down to either the hose has come loose from either the cap top or the pump, or the hose has split. Check this first as its the most likely reason.

The head shouldn't have moved at all as there isn't really any way this could happen. Sometimes the ink can spread on the pad though, so it could be in the right place. The main thing is to get back the missing yellow and black and see how the print is looking then.

Get the customer to find a photo of a pattern he likes online, then just recreate something similar yourself. It's really not hard to make camo artwork as its all basic shapes.

I agree that can happen occasionally, but probably every 1 person it works for there are 99 it won't. It is always worth trying if the head is blocked anyway as you have nothing to lose, but don't be surprised if it doesn't fix it :)

Just make sure the printer is off and fully discharged before doing any work on it ! Also order a pack of ten fuses as they cost next to nothing, and it's sods law if you only get a couple they will blow and you won't have any spares.
