  1. Grainy prints engineer visited

I always use CMYK for vector graphics, but it can depend on the individual printer. If you set your profile to density control only in CYMK this will print the colours exactly as they are on the artwork, so if your artwork has pure yellow ( 0,100,0,0 ) then the printer should print only using...
  2. roland rf-640. replaced printhead, capping station, ribbon cables and dampers. now theres a clicking!

The wire transfer places are definitely a scam. There are a couple based in indonesia somewhere who claim to be in the USA, but they are complete scammers. Which country are you in ? Ebay sellers are fine if they are a legitimate business selling parts, and as long as you pay through ebay with a...
  3. roland rf-640. replaced printhead, capping station, ribbon cables and dampers. now theres a clicking!

Avoid digiprint ! if there is any problem with the head they refuse to take them back or honour the warranty ! They also seem to supply quite a lot of faulty heads to people.... Also be careful of anywhere that seems very cheap as there are scam sites out there, and some of the chinese sellers...
  4. Wierd cutting problem SP540v

It can be quite random sometimes. Normally the cutting at the right hand side is ok, but gets worse as you move to the left, but it can depend which part of the vinyl is slipping. If lowering the cutting speed made it better than it definitely sounds like the rollers could do with replacing
  5. Wierd cutting problem SP540v

Also, the alignment won't make any difference as this just tells the printer where to cut. If the sheet moves out of alignment at all the printer doesn't know this, so thinks it is cutting in the correct place
  6. Wierd cutting problem SP540v

There are a couple of common reaons this can happen. I assume you mean the cut is ok across the width of the sheet, but goes out on the length? With the cut being ok on lower pressures though it sounds like your pinch rollers aren't holding the vinyl tightly enough. This can cause it to slip...
  7. Roland VS-300i not printing yellow!?!

When the printer cleans it sucks the ink more powerfully through the head than during normal operation. This can fill up the damper and head, and give enough ink for a good print for a while, but as the suction is a lot less when printing if there is an ink supply problem ( could even be a...
  8. Roland VS-300i not printing yellow!?!

If it looks ok it should be fine, as long as it looks centered under the head
  9. Roland VS-300i not printing yellow!?!

Also check the capping station is aligning to the head properly when the job finishes. If it is leaking air at all this can cause the head to dry out overnight
  10. Roland VS-300i not printing yellow!?!

OK so if you have a new head, and it is printing ok for part of the job then you can rule that out. There isn't anything after the ink or head to go wrong. If the head is getting the correct supply of ink, then it should be printing ok. Are the test prints on the new head ok, and did you also...
  11. Wrap motorcycle tank

Yes remove the fuel. It is much easier to work on the tank when it is off the bike anyway, so do it when you remove it
  12. Feed Motor error 0008

Does it do it on every print you try, and if you try a small job, say 6 inches long, does that print and finish correctly? If they have changed all those parts, then it doesn't sound like a hardware problem with the printer itself, I am wondering if something is going on with versaworks and for...

  16. VS 540 Printhead Replacement Question

I really wouldn't worry about it. On my old SP I have replaced heads and entered ranks and not entered them and have never seen any difference in print quality or longevity. I really think any difference between the heads is so tiny that it doesn't really matter if you don't enter them
  17. Roland versacamm sp-300

But check the top of the head too, a cracked manifold can also cause a lot of ink spillage and sometimes it can miss the head and come out the side of where the head mounts
  18. Roland versacamm sp-300

That looks like the ink bladder inside the head has burst. This will make ink overflow from the metal casing of the head and cause this sort of leakage. Clean the head off around the sides and see if you can see see ink seeping from there. I dont think ink is leaking from above the head as...
  19. SHEET CUT ERROR 0400

It is probably the pinch sensor on the left of the printer. This senses when the cutting head reaches it and stops it so it doesn't run into the end. Not sure which model you have, but if you go into service mode you can do a sensor check and see if they all seem ok.
