Thanks for all the replies. I think I will try the knifeless tape. It looks like it would work well for this application. All the trucks are different so I am sure I will use both suggestions. Wet or dry application?!

Sometimes near the end of a print the print head smears ink. I wipe it off the print with the cleaning solution when it does smear. The last time I cleaned it I felt under a steel plate near where the head goes to and from and there was a lot of build up of ink. Must be where it is coming from...
