  1. HP FB700 alternatives

Thanks for the suggestion but is that model discontinued? Really looking for something newer or better than the FB700 not necessarily cheaper. Any other suggestions?
  2. Tradeshow Graphic Panels Help

    How far out are they?
  3. Purchasing a new mid range flatbed

We're in a similar situation to you and looking at the same models. One point to note is that the FB700 will print up to 2.5M wide while most of the others you listed are only 1.6 approx. That's a big difference, 8x4s side on etc. The Agfa Anapurna M2500 is 2.5M and the Oce 460XT with the...
  4. HP FB700 alternatives

Hi, We're looking for a flatbed printer. Quite interested in the FB700 due to the reasonable price when considering the 2.5M print width. Are there any other machines around that sort of price range that will print that wide? If so could you point me in the right direction? Also is the FB700...
  5. The truth about outgassing

Do you unfurl them, use a fan or anything like that? Or just leave them on the printer rolled up, wait 2 hours then lam? Thanks.
  6. The truth about outgassing

Thanks. So would you say they could be just left rolled up on printer / take up reel for a day?
  7. The truth about outgassing

So is that a yes to unfurling them or no, not nessesary? Thanks.
  8. The truth about outgassing

    Thanks.
  9. The truth about outgassing

We have a whole load of 50M rolls of eco solvent prints that need to be outgassed before lamination. I've read the thread a bit further down the board about unfurling the roles and raising them up so the solvent can effectively fall out of the bottom. Is this really a necessary step to outgass...
  10. Ametuer solvent printing question

Yeah thanks I tried that one, as well as all the other vinyl profiles that came preloaded. All of them give this slightly mottled effect until the heat is increased. But if you guys recon it's OK to bump up the heat that's what I'll do.
  11. Ametuer solvent printing question

Yes that's where I'm setting the temps by overriding the defaults.
  12. Ametuer solvent printing question

We're using Versaworks with an RE640. There's no profile available for this vinyl (LG) on the RE that we could find so we're using Generic Vinyl 2.
  13. Ametuer solvent printing question

Thanks for the reply. OK the rippling / tunnelling at 45/50 isn't enough to interfere with the head and that seems to give us the best print quality. So that's the only downside with using higher heat... Potential for rippling and then in turn head crashes? No other downside? Doesn't stretch...
  14. Ametuer solvent printing question

Hi, We've just acquired a Roland printer and are literally printing our first job on it at the moment  This is our first solvent or eco solvent printer so it's a bit of a learning curve. The problem we're having is that when printing solid dark colours at low pre heat / post heat...
  15. Anyone used LG vinyl or lam for printed signs?

Thanks for the replies. OK it's good to hear no nightmare stories pop up about LG, as we've never used any of their products before. We're doing a load of flat panel signs and have been offered the 2 products above (LD3911 and LP3912) at a good price. Printed with Roland eco sol inks, are we...
  16. Anyone used LG vinyl or lam for printed signs?

Thanks for the reply. Do you mean 3912? Or is there a 3921 as well?
  17. Anyone used LG vinyl or lam for printed signs?

Has anyone used LG LD3911 vinyl and / or the matching laminate LP3912? Need some reasonable eco solvent printable vinyl for some prints being mounted to flat substrate (no contour cutting required). Any good?
  18. Can you use your take up reel without a dryer?

Thanks Player. No one else using the take up with their Roland? That's a bit concerning. Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the SP540V a slower machine than the RE640?
  19. Getting some business cards printed, What to put on them? Show me yours!

Made perfect sense to me... First keep it simple, then add a load of crap.
