  1. Printing panels that line up on HP FB?

Hi, To you guys who have used a HP FB machine... How do you print things like hoardings where graphics span more than one panel and need to line up across panel to panel? We demo'd a FB750 the other day and one test we did was to print some 8x4 sheets one after the other with graphics spread...
  2. Anyone using a Jetrix flatbed?

Thanks for the replies. We're looking at the KX7 with the double heads. Pricing is similar to an Arizona 460 XT but it prints twice as fast at a similar quality. Also there is currently a deal available which includes 3 years warranty and the warranty includes heads and lamps. So the only...
  3. Anyone using a Jetrix flatbed?

Does anyone here use a Jetrix flatbed? If so, how are you finding it? Pros? Cons, Reliability? Thanks.
  4. Buying a used flatbed printer, good idea? Which one?

I'm pretty sure you can't get a new 3.2M Vutek for $130K (possibly one of the smaller Rastek/EFI models?). The UK list price for the QS3220 was about £280K. Not sure what it would have been in the states but it must of been hundreds of thousands of dollars.
  5. Buying a used flatbed printer, good idea? Which one?

A mix of speed and quality and hopefully at a reasonably low cost. We'd also like to be able to print at least 2.2M wide roll to roll and a 10ft x 5ft panel in 1 section hence we're looking at the bigger machines. We've looked at Jetrix but to get the big bed it would have to be the KX7 which...
  6. Buying a used flatbed printer, good idea? Which one?

Thanks for the reply. When you say another used machine, do you mean your HP was used when you bought it? If so, how did that work out? Thanks again.
  7. Buying a used flatbed printer, good idea? Which one?

Thanks for the replies. It would be quite a bit more to get a new machine of those specs though. The Fuji for example ($75K) was a bit less than 3 times that when new. The Vutek was about 4.5 times the used price. It's a real mix. Foam PVC, Acrylic, ACM, Correx, Card, PVC banner, Vinyl etc...
  8. Buying a used flatbed printer, good idea? Which one?

We've been looking at flatbed printers for a while now and to free up some cash to buy a cutter at the same time we're considering buying a used machine. Options we're looking at are... 4 year old Fuji Acuity Advanced X2 (Printed 12,000 SQM) = £50K ($75K) 6 year old Vutek QS 3220 (had 2...
  9. Onyx color management help

You could try printing a pantone chart, picking the colour that's nearest and amending the artwork to that colour. At the end of the day though if the colour is outside of the printers gamut it's outside the printers gamut.
  10. HP FB750 and FB550 - What's new?

To be honest it doesn't exactly look groundbreaking... http://www.hp.com/hpinfo/newsroom/press_kits/2013/HPatPRINT13/ScitexFB700.pdf http://www.hp.com/hpinfo/newsroom/press_kits/2015/HPISA2015/HPScitexFB750.pdf I was hoping for new head Higher resolution Big jump in speed Less banding Maybe...
  11. Aluminium vs brass stand off fixings

Hi, Do you guys use aluminium or bass stand off fixings? The aluminium are about half the price of the brass. Is there any reason not to use aluminium? Thanks. -------------------------- Aluminium...
  12. Roland Colour Nightmare

Thanks for the responses guys, particularly MichaelAlmand, it's nice to know we're not alone. There was also another guy on here a while ago called Lime84 that was having the same issues: http://www.signs101.com/forums/showthread.php?105304-RE-640-floating-colour-tone-issue He comments on that...
  13. question. anyone that designs in photoshop can you help me out

    Just 100% black or 100% C, M, Y and K?
  14. Roland Colour Nightmare

Thanks but the colour is consistent across the width of the print, just not from panel to panel. No side of panel 1, 2 or 3 matches any side of panel 1, 2 or 3 (if that makes any sense).
  15. question. anyone that designs in photoshop can you help me out

What is the size of the output? What is the size and resolution of the Photoshop file? When you say black is 100% what do you mean by that?
  16. Roland Colour Nightmare

Thanks for the response. Was your machine an RE? Did changing the dampers resolve the issue? Any other possible causes? Thanks.
  17. Roland Colour Nightmare

Hi,We have a Roland RE-640 and have issues with colour. If we print one thing on Monday and then the same thing on Tuesday the colour is quite often different. All settings, artwork, print material all exactly the same but the colour can and often does vary. That on it's own is frustrating enough...
  18. RE-640 floating colour tone issue

Hi, Yes we're experiencing this problem. Did you ever overcome it? We can print 3 panels 1 after the other with a continuous strip of colour running across them and when laid out side by side the colour is completely different. Same profile, same settings etc. Very frustrating.
  19. Need FB Printer to print 50-75 sq ft/hr with white ink and photo quality on.

Some things can't be achieved without white ink and some things are easier or less labour intensive. Couple of examples... Window graphics where you want some portions to be clear and other portions to be opaque or fading from clear to opaque. Printing on dark coloured materials either as a...
