Hi,
Question for you guys with Roland printers and particularly RE640...
Can you print at a decent speed and use the take up reel without an additional dryer?
Mostly interested in regard to vinyl but other materials as well.
Thanks.
Thanks for this.
These are actually printed graphics that bleed off the edge of the panels. That said, a variation of this should still work, just means the print will end up mounted to the jig as well. But should be able to run a scalpel around it while it's in place or peal the panel away...
I tried cutting some with a Javelin cutter we have here then snapping and the results were quite good apart from the raised edge on the starting side. How do you get rid of this? It seems like rolling it with a metal roller may work?
Most of the signs are 1 meter square.
I was very interested in the Steeltrack but I hear what you're saying about having to get the print down dead square. Am I right in thinking that the angle of the bottom rail that the panels sit on cannot be adjusted at all? Or... Can the clamp not hold the...
Thanks for all the input guys.
Rightly or wrongly I don't feel I can go back to the client now and get them to amend the artwork.
Maybe border was the wrong term, it's more like a key line running around the edge approximately 1/2 to 1 inch from the edge. I haven't got the artwork in front of...
What I'm concerned about is the design of these boards uses a thin border quite close to the edge of the panels so any slight misalignment will be quite evident. If it was a photo or some other design it wouldn't be an issue but the border concerns me.
Hi,
When we mount internal boards on Foam PVC we mount them to an oversized sheet using a laminator THEN cut them down. This means we don't have to worry about getting the prints mounted dead square and also that the leading edge is outside of the print area so we can cut this away as it...
IMO this is a major design mistake with these machines.
Didn't they increase the width from 60" to 61" when they went from the 25 to the 26 model? Why oh why did they not make it 63"?
HPs old aqueous printers do this as well and probably the newer ones.
I just assumed all HPs do this. The carriage moves and seems to check every single head. Slowly. Twice.
Yes it's all a bit odd.
Has anyone actually purchased one of these or know anyone that has? Or even the Latex version?
I haven't heard of a single company that's got either printer (apart from a Mimaki press release about them selling a Latex to somone).
Also, they don't seem to keen to sell...
Thanks to those who have answered seriously.
Gino, boxerbay, rjssigns this is not an Apple vs PC or which colour is the "best" type question. Obviously external weather conditions vary, print materials vary etc etc But I'm talking about "on average", "all things being equal", except for the ink...
Considering this machine is a fair few years old now and heads have moved on / been improved etc, would you still consider buying one new today?
Or are there better out there for the money?
Thanks.
Sorry but I find this thread quite confusing.
Is it possible to use the OPOS Cam model with Caldera's automated features or not?
If using Caldera would it be best to go for the Cam or X model cutter?
But is this the OPOS Cam or OPOS X model?
