  1. banding on roland rf-640

Set it to high quality, and also change to uni direction, this should let you then set it to W pass
  2. Roland Ecosol Max Ink VS 3rd Party Ink VP540i 2023

I use jetbest inks in my bulk system, but have used others like Lotus in the past and never had any problems with them. The actual system itself you can use any ink of your choice in it
  3. Roland Ecosol Max Ink VS 3rd Party Ink VP540i 2023

I would second that. Get a bulk ink system as it will work out a lot cheaper. It probably is worth doing some printing every few days on it just to keep the heads working and clear. I just make up some artwork with 1 inch blocks of each of CMYK across the width of a sheet of vinyl and print...
  4. banding on roland rf-640

Are you using versaworks? If you go into the print quality settings there will be two options, The default is CMYK-v and under that will be CMYK w pass. Change to that and see it if improves. You can also try setting the printer to overprint 1 or 2 times, which also helps cut down banding
  5. Printhead issue or other issue

OK it sounds like there may be a problem getting ink to the cyan head. Did you also change the damper when you changed the head? You should always do this anyway as ink can clog the damper. When you prime the damper that uses a lot more suction than the print head uses, so if it is partially...
  6. banding on roland rf-640

The banding on the cyan is pretty obvious from the test print, but you also have nozzles missing on the yellow which is causing it. You can often get rid of it by changing your print options and quality. If you print using the W pass setting in Versaworks this takes more passes and can often...
  7. Wholesale discount

This was my point. Companies like that are truly buying their materials at wholesale. You often get people saying 'how can they sell that much cheaper than me, they must be making nothing on the orders' - nope, they just arent paying anywhere near what we are for materials, they are getting a...
  8. Need Help VP540i Crash / Shutdown

It sounds like it is the power going to the head then. The scan motor should be ok if the head is moving ok for cutting. There isnt really a reliable way to test this other than what you have already done. If it didnt work at all then you could test the power supply to see if it was totally...
  9. Wholesale discount

There is a big difference between the price you would give to someone bringing in a one off job and getting a bit of a discount than what you would charge someone who is ordering large quantities from you every month. A small trade discount and a wholesale price aren't the same thing
  10. Wholesale discount

As I mentioned, this was not in the sign or print industry, it was a different area. Do you think you can open a phone shop, call Apple and order two iphones from them at wholesale price? Also, if you are going on a wholesale website and just ordering a few bits and pieces as you need them, you...
  11. Need Help VP540i Crash / Shutdown

Also the power supply often won't just fail all at once and stop working, it can fail gradually over time, work sometimes, but then not others.
  12. Need Help VP540i Crash / Shutdown

The printer uses a lot more power to run the heater elements and print head at the same time than just the cut head, so the cut head will often work fine. It definitely sounds like a bad power supply. When the printer is asking the power supply to provide voltage for the heaters and head at the...
  13. Roland SP540-V Printer parts needed

Digiprint can be ok, but anything that they say they dont have in stock they just order in the cheap generic parts from china, then charge loads more for them. They don't sell any genuine parts
  14. Roland SP540-V Printer parts needed

    Those aren't the correct parts
  15. Wholesale discount

I also get the ones who say 'if you supply this order of one item at a big discount then i will order hundreds more from you in the future'. In this case I always say 'well I'll charge you full price for this order, then when you place the order for hundreds I will deduct it from that' :D
  16. Wholesale discount

If he orders wholesale, then he can have a wholesale discount. A small one off order is not wholesale. Tell him he is welcome to open a trade account with you, it needs an initial order of $30,000 then $10,000 per month thereafter to maintain it. It does annoy me a bit when someone asks for a...
  17. Roland SP540-V Printer parts needed

Hi, you can get them on alibab https://claraprint.en.alibaba.com/product/62200375807-807342865/Original_SP_540V_Cable_Flex_Cut_Guide_22305109_for_SP_540v_printer.html Are you sure you are looking at the right part ?
  18. Need Help VP540i Crash / Shutdown

I would guess a failing power supply as well. I would look at replacing this first and see if it solves the problem
  19. vinyl buckling between rollers

First step would be to clean the grit rollers and pinch rolllers. I get this occasionally and find pulling the vinyl off the roll before starting the job helps as well as it isnt then having to drag the weight of the roll. I think sometimes the vinyl can sort of stick as it is being fed off the...
  20. Printhead issue or other issue

If it has leaked onto the print head boards it may already have blown it. Clean everything off and let it fully dry, disconnect the cyan damper from the head and do a test print and see it everything prints ok apart from the cyan. Also check the cyan head manifold carefully for any cracks as...
