  1. Sources for SP-300V ribbon cable for the two printheads.

Not that hard to do, but you've managed to muck it up. You've been peppering the forums with questions about how to do it and how to fix the mistakes. Now you're looking for an alternate source for a couple of $10 cables just so you don't have to deal with them. They're charging a fair price...
  2. Cutter not responding

Thanks for the tip Tomas. Nice to have a newbie contributing right off the bat.
  3. Opinions for new laminator needed - interested in one with take-up...

I'm not familiar with the USTech models, but am a fan of the GFP 300 series.
  4. Sources for SP-300V ribbon cable for the two printheads.

Have you tried a Roland dealer in your area?
  5. VS540i Light Cyan Dropping

If you're sure the cap top is installed correctly and the head and cap top are free of any ink buildup and there are no scratch marks on the bottom of the head, the next step would be to try damper(s), then a new head. (Though in my experience, the dampers on the VS series heads don't clog up...

  8. problem with FC8600

Check the gap between the bottom of the carriage at both ends of the plotter. If it's higher on the left, then your beam is out of alignment. Gety with your dealer or with graphtec to get it fixed. Unless the plotter had been dropped, it should be covered under warranty. Sent from my...
  9. keeping lamination straight

Many times people attribute the laminate to creeping or walking off, but in actuality it's the print that is not loaded in straight. I usually print a straight line across the media if the print edges are irregular and measure from there to the roller and tape it onto the leader once it's on...
  10. Installing 6'x4' PVC sheets on a painted gymnasium wall...

There's much more than moisture that can affect the flatness of a board. PVC boards are notorious for thermal expansion and contraction. Gatorboard, bening a laminated product is much more dimensionally stable. Not to mention lighter in case the afore mentioned and initial inquiry of this...
  11. Painting 1″ thick letters gatorboard (ultraboard)

I would give the back side the same treatment as the face side. I'm not sure about Ultraboard, but I've seen other foam boards warp from uneven tensions on the two faces - especially when out in the sun.
  12. Painting 1″ thick letters gatorboard (ultraboard)

Expanded polystyrene core with high impact polystyrene faces.
  13. Envision 375 X Axis calibration

Alex, first make sure that there is no adhesive buildup on the sprockets. That can lift the holes up higher on the teeth and allow some slop in the x direction. Also, I always try this test with genuine Gerber vinyl. They put a patent on the hole punch configuration and some manufacturers got...
  14. Little help from L5x0 owners

But do you let him do the maintenance on your printer? o_O
  15. Cutting - little bumps on Zero and %

  16. Dx5 - Dx7 clogged nozzles

Is the maintenance station/cap top in good shape? When was it last replaced? What inks are you using? What printer is this in?
  17. Windows 7 64 bit and Versaworks problem

In my experience it will work most times, but when it doesn't you're on your own. Most of the time, when there are problems, it relates to networking with the printers. I don't think there's been a problem with visual appearance of the program, unless the screen resolution isn't high enough...
  18. Hp Latex 360 Prints Grainy

2 points here - solvent inks would be less susceptible to an oil based issue (plasticizer) than a water based ink (latex) and I've seen this cause problems on solvent printers as well, however with was on some 2 year old banner material. It appears that HP has put it's research power into this...
  19. Fuzzy Prints on VG540

Is the carriage in the high or low position. If it is calibrated for one and you're printing in the other, it will really throw things off.
  20. Little help from L5x0 owners

Well, I have a 365, not a 500 series. Parts are the same, but the firmware is different. Mine does not do that on the first pass, nor any others that I observed. I also do not have that marking on the cleaning cloth. Not the same machine, but similar. I hope this helps.
