  1. Connecting Graphtec Cutter to Mac Cutting Master2

Change the data language on the Graphtec to GPGL (via the control panel on the cutter itself.
  2. Flexisig profile issue

A lot of questions, so here goes: The FlexiSIGN & Photoprint media profiles that you are looking for must be built for your printer model, Inkset, and RIP. File format should be a PTF (Preset Transfer File), and they may be available from SAi (developer of the RIP), or the various media...
  3. FC8000-160 bad corners

It must be tight, and not loose or sloppy.
  4. Mimaki Latex printer

Is the LX printer behind him printing as he is speaking? If so, that is not 18 square m/hour. Closer to the 18cm/ hour he mentioned by accident...
  5. Print color gamut?

Many RIPs include tools to define 'custom' colors (aka color replacements, spot colors etc) and then reproduce them as accurately as possible, with the limitations of the printer's gamut for that media, of course. For example, in Versaworks, it is referred to as Spot Color Settings, Onyx refers...
  6. Best Black?

RGB 0,0,0, and let the RIP convert to the densest black possible using the profile.
  7. Adobe CS2 on win7?

The real issue is whether the OS is 32-bit or 64-bit. The 64-bit version of Windows 7 will corrupt the CS2 installation is you use a standard wizard-driven installation. You would need to install it using Windows XP compatability mode (right click on the exe and choose XP mode). You should lose...
  8. x-rite i1Basic Pro

In order to create ICC profiles for your Roland printer/ Versaworks RIP, you would need the PublishPro. Basic is only able to create display (monitor) profiles.
  9. printer should have come with a warning label

HP is absolutely not looking to force their installed base of latex ink printers (or any other printer) to purchase consumables from any single source, including the distributor of the printer itself. They are looking to keep margin levels intact for their various go-to-market programs.
  10. printer should have come with a warning label

I can't for the life of me understand why any legitimate reseller would refuse to sell consumables to a user of the equipment. Quite the contrary in fact. Unless you are covered under an HP "Big Deal', (such as a franchise or chain operation), you are free to purchase from whomever you...
  11. Major Color Problems

Repeatability over time (from a color perspective) can only be achieved when a great number of variables are controlled. These include: 1. Printer / Nozzle performance 2. Environmental consistency (temp and humidity) 3. Software Settings (resolution, rendering intent, pass counts etc) 4. Media...
  12. printer should have come with a warning label

Which model of printer do you have? L26 has a glossier and denser black than L25, which should reduce the ink consumption, if you have a media profile built to do so. Bigfish is correct. On average, the latex ink consumption will be between 1 - 1.25ml per sft of print. It is easy to check...
  13. problems

The quote abouve was in reference to Gino's question about raising the height of the printheads. That is not possible in the Latex L25/26.
  14. problems

Not possible on HP L25/26 devices
  15. Pics of the new Roland Versa Studio BN 20 Printer/Cutter

Scam artists based in Indonesia...seen dozens of this type of ripoff site.
  16. Strange one.....

+1 Oversaturating the media is a common cause of fisheye. That is why it is much more commonly seen in darker colors than lighter ones. Slowing down the carriage or better yet, laying down less ink (creating/ using a profile with lower ink limits) should solve this.
  17. JF-1631 reprography and color matching

Well said Eye. It is a commonly held belief that a profile is responsible for the spot color match, when virtually all RIPs have mechanisms in them for identifying Pantone and other (Roland Color System for example in Versaworks) spot colors. Most also have the ability to define and create...
  18. Printing not straight

Sounds like a dirty encoder strip. Clean it and the sensor with a gentle cleaning agent, and see if that does not clear things right up.
  19. Trying to use Rolands Colors in a gradient

Short answer is no. Roland colors are for solids only.
  20. UVcut or Not?

Versaworks lacks the functionality to create the ICC profile, and relies on other apps for this. In the XRite product that you mention, that software is i1Profiler, which does have the ability to correct for OBs.
