  1. HP Latex Printer arrived today...

You did not receive setup & configuration from your reseller?
  2. Question on speed of a prismjet

Based on these throughput values, I am guessing that the user is referencing the original Falcon Outdoor-based PrismJet. Do a Google image search on 'Falcon Outdoor' to see if it looks like your printer. There is not a great deal that can be done to speed it up w/o sacrificing image quality if...
  3. Flexi 10 VS-300 ICC profile

Very few applications have requirements for higher than 720DPI, and that is why you are not finding profiles at 1440 resolution.
  4. color profiling and media person

In general terms, on-site and inexpensive do not belong in the same sentence. I see that you are in Kansas, and Nazdar Consulting is also in KS. At least the trip charge should be reasonable: http://www.nazdarconsulting.com/
  5. Internal memory

Cycling power should clear the RAM in the plotter itself. While the plotter is powered off, go back to the app that is spooling the data to the cutter and clear the job queue there as well. If you don't, it will attempt to pick up where it left off (as you are seeing).
  6. HP Designjet L25500 drying problems

In my experience, the High Ink setting is only used for certain fabric medias, and not advisable for paper, most films (excepting backlit), vinyls, or scrim banner media classes. Frankly, this is a setting that should be defined by the Media Profile, and not be toggled on or off by the user...
  7. Banner Profile Help

Make sure that you are on the latest version of Onyx. It should be 10.1 to be current. There was a known bug in 10.0 that inverted colors in files, but it has been resolved in the latest updates. As you are seeing, it only manufasted on some media profiles.
  8. Communication Problem Help!

It sounds like a communication error from the printer to the RIP. Are you running Avast anti-virus by chance? I know that a recent upgrade to that AV product has caused problems form other RIPS (Onyx, Caldera). You might try temporarily disabling your Anti-Virus and try again...
  9. Printing grey scale

It sounds like you are describing GCR (Gray Component Replacement) in the above statement, and not BPC (Black Point Compensation). GCR is a function that resides inside the ICC profile itself, and defines the use of K ink vs CMY to build grays. BPC is not a rendering intent. BPC is intended...
  10. which side are the plug ins on l l25500

Here is a site preparation document that HP makes available. Iti goes into detail about the site preparation needed for the HP L25500 (attached). It contains everything you ever wanted to know about the printer's requirements.
  11. Printing solid colors

The reddish tint in the gray graduated print looks to be more than an unclean board...looks more like a non neutral color profile to me.
  12. Creating Profiles in Onyx 10.1

Graininess in solid colors can occur for many reasons, including: bidirectional aligment off large volume drops ICC profile using black too much/ soon in lighter colors head speed too high (loss of drop accuracy) temperature settings too low/ high media advance and more potential reasons...
  13. Profile Help - Static Cling??

The Briteline product is an OEM of General Formulations Concept 207 static cling media. General Formulations does have an Onyx Media Library file (OML) for this media on their web site available for download www.generalformulations.com) if you want to use a canned profile that has been built...
  14. Looking for somebody familiar with profiling using Onyx

Onyx 10 has the ability to define ink restrictions (primary channel ink limits) based on LAB measurements of the ramps. This functionality was introduced in v10. You also have the ability to turn off this function by choosing the Legacy Ink Limiting check box, which leaves the ink restrictions...
  15. waterbased or solvent/eco-solvent for outdoor prints?

There is much wrong in this post, I don't even know where to begin. First, "Eco" in the context of solvent ink is nothing more than marketing speak. It Has no intrinsic meaning aside from what the reader infers. Second, the base of any ink set is the dominant component of the ink. In water based...
  16. Which driver?

The PrismJet is an OEM of a Mutoh Falcon Outdoor, and it is also known as a Rockhopper in various parts of the world. In Flexi's Production Manager app, you should select the driver for the Mutoh Falcon Outdoor or Rockhopper. If you are referring to a media configuration for the printer, that...
  17. Bowing/ Smiling In Print l25500

We run the 3M IJ35C-20 film at 220 degrees on the curing heater (using a custom profile built in Onyx and Caldera).
  18. too much Yellow in greys.

You are fine with using the UV Cut version of the EyeOne Pro spectrophotometer. Are you getting the entire Media created, or is the process hanging up in the middle (ink restrictions/ linearizing?) and not getting through the process to create the ICC?
  19. not.sire.if.its.possible, latex.conversion?

Not gonna happen with latex ink. Why not convert to a hotter solvent ink if you looking for better bite with PVC media?
  20. JV3 250 Odd lines coming and going.

I've seen this occur on various brands of machines, including Mutoh, Mimaki, and Roland. In most cases it is related to the linear encoder strip, or the sensor itself.
