  1. What would you charge? (BUS WRAP)

Oracal 200 lam is similar to 210 and a little cheaper. Not very conformable but it doesn't need to be for that job. Use that with the automark knock off, it'll be fine for that short of a term. I'd still have a hard time getting below $5500 but if you need the work, do it for $5k.
  2. What about your sign?

The structure is from treated 4x4's and the rest of it is 1/2" RTG. The raised panels are wrapped in Nikkalite reflective and have the edges routed and then painted with One-Shop. The base panels are wrapped in Oracal 3551. A friend of mine who has a landscaping company built the retaining...
  3. typestries / weprintyouprofit.com

Just had Kate & crew do a couple more batches of coro signs for us. Quick turn around, reasonable pricing and great product as usual. Highly recommended! Send file, open box, collect profit. Ya can't beat it.
  4. Old Cars...

What I need is anything PRE-1973 because that's the cut off for admission to Goodguys Rod & Custom events. I did see that blue 57 on Pittsburgh Craigs List. I'm not looking for a project (I've already got one of those in the form of a 65 Buick Riviera Grand Sport). I just need a nice reliable...
  5. Old Cars...

Yea, Pat... I have the search saved & I run it every time I walk by the computer... That wagon is sick! I like the earlier ones too but I'm mainly just looking to pile the kids in & hit some goodguys shows so anything reliable will do. early 50's Chevy's are my favorite but it's tough to touch a...
  6. Old Cars...

I'm looking for a pre-1973 station wagon or suburban (4wd), 4 door is fine. I may consider a sedan if it's a 2 door, I need to fit at least 5 people. If anybody sees one in their area or online, shoot it over to me! Not looking for a show car, just a driver and my budget is going to be...
  7. Box truck wrap price question

$3800 is quite reasonable and I'd be close to or just a shade under that. What the hell do I know though... I have basically held the pricing the same for several years on this type of wrap and suddenly we're losing bids left & right to a few under cutters. I'm not working for nothing.
  8. I know you're not supposed to wrap with calendered...

This was all done several years ago on 3551 with 290 lam and I actually saw it yesterday. It still looks great and it has been kept outside. 3551 is great stuff and on a project like this, it results in a pretty significant savings.
  9. banner pricing

3x6 printed & finished is $145 and that (as are all of my others) is a take it or leave it price. If I can't make a reasonable profit, I'd rather just not do the job. I've let plenty walk out the door, those customers are usually more trouble than they're worth anyway. We also do custom paint...
  10. Matte Bronze wrap material?

Cheap- Right now I'm doing MY car. Testing the market is mostly just an excuse to waste the time & material to do mine. :)
  11. Matte Bronze wrap material?

We've been getting a lot of requests for color change wraps and most of those are for matte finish. I'm going to do my Escalade as a test for the market. It's black now. I prefer Oracal materials generally but I think I'm going to go with the 3M 1080 matte military green and I wanted to do the...
  12. Am I being overcharged?

I'd say they were being reasonable. There were two possible problems and he tried the less expensive alternative first. This time that just didn't work out. The same thing recently happened to me on a computer repair. It sucks, especially because it was an unexpected expense, but it's a...
  13. Making Decisions - Banners we Offer

I never thought I'd say this, but I agree with OP. Maybe it's his new found respect for lower case letters.
  14. Making Decisions - Banners we Offer

Mosh beat me to this one. It's the first thing that came to mind when I got to his " I just do it 'cause I like to" comment. We should all be happy that we can live in a place where we can bust our *** to subsidize a hobbyist to under cut us. ... 3 asterisk... really? I guess no threads about...
  15. Making Decisions - Banners we Offer

Really, Mosh? At some price point, I'd rather just not do a job. $3 / sq ft is way below that point.
  16. When are you closed for Christmas / New Year?

We're extremely light on work. We'll be taking off Friday and Monday, but we've been doing that a lot lately :(
  17. This is what happens when you don't wrap with cast vinyl.

3165RA is ok for wrapping something flat, like a trailer. Anybody who uses calendared vinyl to wrap a van gets the reputation he deserves. I haven't seen anybody around here doing that, but most of the wrap jobs I've seen from our "competition" might as well have been calendared. The only thing...
  18. Can you relate to this?

    Sad, but so often true!
  19. Our wrap got some media!

Here's a box truck wrap we did (right) that won HVACR Magazine's "Best-Looking Box Truck" for 2011. Our customer brought us a matted and framed copy this morning! We're in good company too... Dan's work there on the cover (far left)!
  20. Armed or Unarmed?

Better to have and not need than to need and not have. I have a Glock 22 and a smaller framed stainless Firestar, both in .40 caliber as well as a Mossberg pistol grip tactical 12 guage. There's always a gun in my truck and my house. I do have a CCW.
