  4. Has anyone 'profiled' RIPC?

I was under the impression that you (OP Gene) have an i1 color management system. If that is the case, your best option would be to build entirely new media in the RIP, which utilize the RIPC modes. If your RIP is Versaworks, you can do the entire thing there, with the exception of the ICC...
  5. Has anyone 'profiled' RIPC?

RIPC Media Modes are specifically built, and are not interchangeable with non-RIPC modes. Typically, the RIPC mode uses fewer passes (6 rather than 8 @ 720 for example). The mode is selected at the start of the media profiling process, via the use of a RIPC or non-RIPC template.

  7. What is the difference bet. HPGL and GPGL?

HPGL is more widely supported in various software programs (Flexi, Signlab). GPGL is used in software OEM'd by Graphtec (FineCut for example). I'd set it up for HPGL and forget it.

  14. Printing a color instead of nothing

Are you creating these files in FlexiSIGN, and then putputting them via the RIP+Print window? The other option is to save the data in an appropriate file format (EPS, TIF etc), and then brin that file directly into the Production Manager RIP via File Menu > Add Job. My real question is...
  15. Printing a color instead of nothing

What file type(s) are you sending to the RIP? Are they raster files, such as TIF or JPG, or Postscript files, such as EPS or PDF? The rendering intent used for raster/ vector data sets can cause this issue- do not use Absolute Colorimetric rendering intent as it can cause this problem.

This is a sensor error. The Head Lock Sensor may be malfunctioning or a bit loose.
  17. black printing for cyan

Your VersaCAMM SP is cross-contaminating on the #1 printhead (K/C). The one-way valve in the Cyan damper has failed, and is allowing black ink into the cyan line. You need a new damper for each of these colors.
