  1. Font with "EST." variants

Anyone know if there is a font that has the word "Established" and some of its variants (i.e. EST, est., etc) along with some filigrees and the like? I kinda expected to find such a thing over at LetterHead Fonts, but am not seeing it. Yes, I can of course make my own, just wanted to see if...
  2. UV flatbed printing on wood substrate

Regarding a nice WB finish, I have been using PPG Break-Through and I love the stuff. Doesn't dry quite as fast as lacquer, but much better than any other WB finish I've tried. I prefer the satin finish and it is both indoor/outdoor durable.
  3. UV flatbed printing on wood substrate

Hey artbot, what printer do you have? I need something will do at least 36" x 36", with 48" x 48" better and of course 4x8 ultimately, but probably not necessary at this point.
  4. UV flatbed printing on wood substrate

I think 1.5-4 mm (.06-.16")would be acceptable but .01" seems pretty sketchy for this stuff. Attached is an example of what I am talking about.
  5. UV flatbed printing on wood substrate

Anyone using a UV flatbed to print directly onto wood? I currently make wood signs from reclaimed wood (typically cedar decking or fencing). I then make a paint mask and spray paint the text or graphics. This is fine for simple things, but obviously not the best approach for anything more...
  6. Cutting software? Omega? Flexi? Corel?

I started with CoCut Pro back in 2003. I got this along with my first cutter for a good price, a SummaCut D60 which I still use to this day. I like it pretty well and it does have some nice features that I regularly. These include welding (by color or automatic), round corners (super handy...
  7. Font Managers

I have used it for a few months now but am not so much of a fan. For one, I find it to be really slow when used over a network. Secondly, I find that it leaves font "tendrils" or something in it's wake. For example, after loading fonts and using them during a session, when I come back I find...
  8. Corel X8 is out!!!!!!!!!!!

Can anyone say how it works with fonts installed on a network? I have a FreeNAS server and for whatever reason, Bitstream flatly refuses to see my network fonts on my laptop that has Corel X7 installed. Yet, I have another computer with X3 and Bitstream sees all the network fonts just fine...
  9. Fellers.........Cha cha cha changes?

While I have been out of the game for a while now, it also looks like they no longer make custom banners anymore. This used to be a core competency for them when they were known as Ameriban, know it seems they want to focus mostly on wraps.
  10. New Pricing for the Roland VS-540 & VS-640

Does this only apply to the 540 and 640, not the 300?
  11. GraphixCalc Pricing Software

I will let them reply if necessary, but I believe we got it all worked out.

  13. Where to find a 30 Gallon Cardboard Drum

If you've not already looked into this, consider building yourself a Thien separator, it will work FAR better than just with the elbows. Without the separator, you will notice "scrubbing" where the dust and debris will begin to get sucked into the vacuum as the container fills up. The...
  14. Durability of Thermal Resin prints

I found this about ClearShield Anti-Graffiti liquid laminate and was fairly impressed with what solvents were tested. ClearShield Anti-Graffiti has been tested against many common chemicals. It shows no effect on a 10 minute spot test done with the following chemicals: Acetone, Toluene...
  15. Average Square foot pricing for vehicle wraps

You need to know what YOU NEED to charge in order to stay profitable (based on overhead, materials costs and markup, time involved, etc.). Using someone else's variables is a good way to never know what YOU need. If you don't already know it, you should determine what you Standard Shop Rate...
  16. Durability of Thermal Resin prints

Pat, no, but that is a possible option and thanks for bringing it up.
  17. Durability of Thermal Resin prints

Hello Signs101! Long time no talk, huh? I have a question for Gerber Edge and/or Summa DC4 users. For my current employer, I am researching the real-world durability of thermal resin prints for an industrial application. Having previously owned a solvent-based inkjet, I already am fully...
