This gives me a reason to setup my GSG account today. Fellers dropped the ball on multiple orders since they got bought out and now I’m wondering if I got refunds for these types of situations, but I’m not sure I have any way to check.
You’re both saying the same thing about each other at this point. I’ve been seriously interested in a flatbed for some years now and have been digging deeper into it the past few days, and this feud just keeps popping up in the middle of everything.
I get it… My summa roll cutter was trouble...
It sounds like you design as a vector but are exporting as a raster? Vector doesn’t have a set dpi. Export in .ai, .eps, .pdf. Maybe you are already, just don’t understand why there’s a dpi setting on your vector aside from coming out of the rip.
Sorry to hear. We have tons of issues with it, but I cut 4 kits yesterday, and aside from accuracy issues, the kits are fully acceptable. Just for how much money spent on this cutter to be told it can do something, it doesn’t do it well, and too much time is spent picking up the slack by hand...
Our sheets are 30” x minimum of 60”. If I cut them into two sheets per kit, I’m throwing away even more money.
I definitely am lacking trust in my S2T lately. It’s fucked up almost as much as it’s done right. Yea, maybe user error, guess I should’ve bought it from a company who knew more about...
it’s definitely exhausting to waste so much time and material reprinting kits that already have tight margins. I haven’t run into the sliver issue, I cut one pass, that could be why, two pass would make sense to get lam all over. I’ve heard it all now, I also try to get all my parts on a...
Was hoping to hear your solution to the problem. Sounds like a flatbed is the way to go. Would rather not use a feed in and out table and take up all that space while still not cutting all the way through. Maybe next year we’ll push that direction. Appreciate everyone’s info
Yes to paneling. If it wasn’t, it’d ruin the whole sheet. Usually messes up the first section of cut and I can hand cut to save the sheet. I’ve hand cut more graphics than I’ve ever hoped to. Only transparent from substance is brown backed, have no issues with other transparents, but for Moto...
Hey guys,
Looking for real life experience on the best cutter to run Substance vinyl for MX Graphics.
Currently operate a fairy new Summa S2T160 w/ 5 rollers and have had nothing but issues, as others have had in this line of work. Yes the Summa can cut through the vinyl no problem, but it...
Hey, been seeing a bunch of your thread replies and what not about how many issues you had with your summa. I am pretty much exactly where you were, only, just dealt with it for the last 3 years. Tired of wasting time and material, and wanted to see if you found a better solution. Thinking about...
stxrmxn Did you ever get this fixed? I have all the same issues you're having. I was told this could handle mx graphics no problem.
Had it about 2 years and I have more issues with it than not. I admit maybe my issues come from user error, but it'd be real nice if it weren't so fuckin...
I've heard of it and tried to get a demo of it when I was starting out but it never surfaced. Also haven't heard anything about it as far as functionality anywhere. I didn't dig too deep once I got my hands on Caldera.
Hey guys,
When I first got into printing 2 years ago I paid 1200$ for Caldera's lightest setup with no features. Now I'm looking at getting a new printer and they are trying to charge me for all kinds of things like Caldera Care and driver switch. Looking to ask me for another 2500-3000$.
I...
Do you laminate right out of the printer? I have some issues with de-lam on wrap films. Avery Dennison advises to put gas latex prints for at least 6 hours and more if possible.
So with all of your guys’ opinion on color and design.... What do you recommend for workspace settings and profile when designing in illustrator as well as file save format and settings. Is that something I can set and forget for best output all across the spectrum? You guys are too fkin smart...
In your head I'm sure that sounds easy, but I don't do any work in Photoshop and that went straight over my head. Honestly though, this new profile put out exactly what I've been trying to achieve. Customer just approved it 10 minutes ago, so I'm happy for now.
