3' x 8' full-color full-bleed digitally printed 13oz banner price?

One thing to keep in mind with pricing. You can go into walmart and buy a can of generic diet soda for 25 cents but that does not stop people from going through the Arby's drive through and buying a diet coke for $2.50. It is always good to know the market prices but at the end of the day, you have to set your prices where you need to be. A sign company is also providing a service that a wholesaler or a place like Staples does not.

I'm $11.60/sqft. Got 20 40x60's coming through this weekend. Two meetings, a dozen or more emails so far. I get to QA the artwork when it arrives.
Cheap, no. Service and time intensive, yes (particularly on my little not r2r printer and laminator). But certainly profitable. I'm going for service over price, and seems that there are clients willing to pick service. Sort of tempted to sub it out, but time scale is tight, and I have my standards, and don't yet have an established trade partner for these things.
Take out materials, shop cost/time etc and it's profittable.

Yes, that's correct. I'm higher on my vehicles and cut vinyl than other shops in my area. I might be a little low on banners but I lost a few jobs last year with school for being too high so maybe I'm not?

The last few weeks with all our "city drama" it's divided the city into conservatives and liberals. I'm a conservative (you wouldn't know it unless you knew me, which most people do) and the other lady in town is a liberal. I post NOTHING about our local drama, don't have signage outside, nothing on FB - zero about politics anywhere. She made these liberal signs and is advertising them for people to buy and bla bla bla. A few people posted on her page that if certain businesses refuse to post her "sign" in their window then they won't be shopping there any longer. P.O'd A LOT of conservatives off.

So, I can probably charge $400 for a banner and get it from anyone who isn't a liberal LOL

Do you really lam your banners ?? Liquid, I presume ??
95% of my stuff is gallery.
All media profiled, without, or with lam, and this includes banner. Colours spot on, neutrals dead nuts neutral. One day I dream of not just aqueous, roll to roll, all the goodies.
Job is three months external in a city not famed for sunshine, so pressure not liquid.

We have a guy called banner king who will print at $4 a sqft for under 8 FT banners, or $3.25 a sqft for anything over 10 FT. Hemmed and grommeted... 10% off 3 or more banners...15% off 5 ore more...free shipping on orders $200 or more across all of Canada.

So yeah, I get why Im always against doing banners and post that its not worth it. If you guys can get double what we can... Then banners would be worth it!

We do 4x8 banners for $300 for one customer... And they usually order a full roll at a time, so then its worth it. but if we had to "Compete" and sell them for $65 a banner and spend the whole day printing and heming and grommeting...it's not worth tying up a machine and a laborer for like $300 profit after overheads. Hate banners, would love them if all the garage warriors werent selling them for next to nothing!

[Edit] We also have some dimwit selling cheap chinese banner stands with prints for $75. Then when someone asks us, and we're in the $180-200 range... They laugh. Guess whos laughing when their 1 lb stand tips over at the slightest gust of wind, and they come crawling to you to make a $200, properly specced outdoor banner stand....

Also, these are Canadian funds. Deduct 25% to see how little monopoly money we actually get for banners. Add to the fact we have to charge 5-12% taxes, and the garage guy doesn't... and you can see what a difference in pricing there is.
Aren't all banner stands cheap Chinese banner stands?

I t-boned some lady out in the parking lot with mine last week. She tried to blame me. I said, I can only do 4 miles an hour. How fast were you going ?? She said, I’ve been parked here for 15. Inutes waiting for my grandson to come out.

So, I may have the answer. Like Subway Subs putting a franchise on every corner you end up competing with your self for survival. HP, Mimaki, whomever will sell a printer to you and everyone else in town. They saturate the market with leased equipment and let the jackals (SMEs) scavenge for the scraps left by the lions (national producers). They make money by leasing more equipment than the market could bare and regardless of who has one they sell the consumables as well. Win, win for them and too bad for the rest of you.

$5 a square foot, includes basic layout, nothing fancy. Get technical on the design, add $95 (1hour of art time).

Kinkos, Staples, are at $1.49 square with your provided artwork in our area.

Am I reading this correctly? You were engaged in scooter wars with an old lady in a parking lot?

Who's the resident artist here (JB?). We need a sketch of this, pronto!

Years ago people on here complaining about the "hacks down the street" doing work real cheep. Now the "hacks" say its wholesale and people accept that. Their business theory of volume work at lower prices makes you more money. I do not even mess with making banners, just order them from Signs365, full bleed hemmed and grommets. If it cost me $100 for a banner and shipping I charge $350 because I did it so fast for them. Use that pricing scale no matter what size or volume. Place order on Thursday afternoon and I get it Friday morning.

Wrong. There's one of them that works at a gas station here, excusing herself with the customer ahead of me because she was Facetiming with her grandson, then I heard her mention she's 35. WTF? And she wasn't Mexican, either.
