Does anyone have any tutorials on making this???

I am looking for a tutorial on making this old school lettering job. I know its probably done in Illustrator but if anyones got some info to help that would be great.. Thanks IMG_1333.jpg

CorelDraw

-type your text
-add a contour
-break apart contour
-use the "extrude" tool on the countour
-break apart contour
-ungroup contour
-manipulate shadows on the extruded element

You can do it with paint and brush also. Split drop shades and shadows were a part of my bag of tricks when I hand lettered.

Corel X5 has a new and improved extrude function. Here's one I just did and it took a minute with some color changes.

Illustrator:

Type in text
Effect>3D>Extrude & Bevel
Get the settings correct (preview until it looks like you want it), hit Okay
Object>Expand Appearance
Change colors/strokes on the shapes to match the original (Isolate Selected Group first so you can do so)
