garbage rant!!!

I am not sure in the US how your garbage rates are but up here I think they are way too high. I have a 4 yard container and pay $55.00 a dump. Considering what we throw away and how fast it can fill up that seems to be a lot of $$$$.

The rant is this weekend I came in on Saturday morning and I pull up to that back door and see a 53' reefer trailer off loading frozen cakes at the end units of my building. They are the only food place around here that would require a reefer truck. Anyways I stay for about an hour and when I leave the truck is still there.

Fast forward to Monday morning. Pull in at 6:45 this morning and park at the back door. My garbage has 3 large thick cardboard boxes stuffed into it. I take a close look and all 3 boxes are "Andy Boy" 24 dozen romaine lettuces. That's 64 heads of lettuce thrown in my garbage taking up about a 1/4 of the space.

I know the name of the trucking company (pretty large) but wonder if I should make the call and rag on the driver for throwing his garbage in my bin. I don't have 100% proof, but I know this area and it was just to convenient for this guy not to have. What a waste of food...I can only surmise that maybe they froze and they are no good now and he decided to dump them in my bin.... FAK!!!

We see all kinds of stuff thrown in our dumpster. For the most part, it's just a wrapper or small item, but if they are leaving anything taking up valuable space, that is considered 'Theft of Services' and charges cab be brought against them, along with fines. We have people on tape doing it to ours and I caught my neighbor doing this. Our attorney contacted him and we got a check from him and he has never done it since.

Ours is a 4 yarder too. We pay $65 to dump and about $55.00 a month rent to have it on our property. It is expensive, so I'd have a very stern talk with the guy or have an attorney contact them.

We have a 2 yard dumpster and it gets dumped every 2 weeks, I pay $65 month total.. Extra dump is $40 bucks

Three Cubic Yards with a weekly pickup runs us about $76.00 per month


for the illegal dumpers

• make a sign telling the penalty for illegal usage
• put a lock on the lid
• put a security / motion activated camera in place

I wish ours was that cheap. We have a 1.5yd and it is around $250 a month for once a week service. We do get a free 4yd recycle bin though. We are right next to a public storage unit and get the idiots dumping old furniture and boxes. We had to get a locking dumpster just so our dumpsters wouldn't be full the day after they were emptied.

We lock our bins but people still dump stuff next to them, mostly from apartments across the lane.
I have a camera recording 24/7 so usually see them walking back into their block -
I usually print out a photo of the dumper and tape it next to the returned rubbish left on their property in an obvious place.
That normally stops them doing it again.

I am next to a car wash and have had people clean there cars out and throw there trash in my dumpster - I have also caught the Car Wash attendants dumping there trash in mine if theirs gets full...I talked to the boss and told them to ask me before they do.. I don't mind if they do it the night before dump as it gets dumped about 5:30am every other Thursday

I have 9x8x5 ft garbage bin beside my building. Paying $60 per month to have it & $60 per dump when i need it dumped. As for people throwing their crap in it... yeah, but fortunately for me, does not happen that often but i still get pissed off about it.

So last night I went out there and emptied all the romaine into the bin so I could get the boxes out as they were just thrown in and eating up way to much space. I brought the boxes inside and will cut them down and then jam them back in. This morning I open the bin and find 2 more boxes... Nice ones 6" x 18" x 24"...perfect condition so I will use them to send something out.... The idiot left his address and full name on the boxes as they came from Amazon lol. I googled the address and now I know where he lives.... I should freak him out and go deliver them to his house...fill them with porn and anything else I can think of to get him in trouble with the wife!! lol:Big Laugh

We're fortunate to not have too much trouble with this but one time I came into work and found about 4 big black garbage bags of trash in my dumpster. I opened one up and found magazines addressed to the rental house across the street. I put all the bags in by truck, took them to the address and left them on the porch. We pay too much and need the space we pay for to have others using our dumpster for their trash.

1.4462 on a charge on my Visa card that cleared yesterday.....Visa/Mastercard adds 2 cents and individual card issuers can add another 1.5% to 3.0%....My Visa is 1.75%....Very frightening.....

speaking of dumpster rants....

a few years back left Friday and the dumpster was 95% empty came in Monday morning and found the dumpster was FULL with old roofing shingles, tar paper, etc...

then the truck came to dump and there was so much weight in there that the truck could not lift the dumpster.
guess who had to empty the dumpster THE ENTIRE DUMPSTER by hand and then haul the shingles off as the trash company will not haul off construction debris nor did they care that it was an illegal dump as the dumpster is registered to us.

needless to say a lock was placed on it because even if you catch the dumper on camera the trash company will not haul off the debris if illegal, or at-least in our case they wont, and then you have the issues/hassles of getting the dumper to get their trash out while taking away from the space you need for your trash

Last month some guys were kind enough to not dump their entire roofing job and trash heap in our dumpster. Instead they just dumped it all in our parking lot.

Unfortunately for them we have are facility covered with cameras. That combined with the fact that they were stupid enough to leave their work order in the pile of trash made it a pretty open and shut case for the police.

I lucked out on the garbage bin expense!

My landlord is a big Roofing company. I pay them 75.00$ a month and have unlimited access to his full size dumpsters. I can throw away full 4'x8' sheets or 16' lumber without having to chop it down!

And concerning the Canadian dollar ... Really sucks! Paying around 80.00$ a month for Adobe CC at that rate!
