The signage business eats a lot of your time.
And you have to split yourself in a lot of places
in the same time and you have to choose to make an offer fast
or to create a more comprehensive calculation
to make sure your offer is close to reality.

P.S. Multitasking is part of our DNA! :)
P.S.S. I would appreciate if you can motivate your choice :thankyou:

Make a list of ALL materials, apply your markup. Write the number down. Methodically work through the building process, think like; how long will it take me to get the tools out, that’s part of the process. Make a realistic estimate of how many hours each part of the build will take.
Figure your time in 1/2 hour segments. No steps take less than 1/2 hour. Tally up the hours you feel it will take to build the sign and multiply by your shop hourly rate. Add that number to the materials number. Decide on a CYA %, multiply your total by the CYA %. That sum is what the sign costs. This is not a fancy formula, but it’s quite foolproof. Square foot pricing is not always accurate. Say it takes 1 hour to weld the four corners of an extrusion. A 5sf box uses the same hour to weld that a 20sf box does. There are many similar examples. After you’ve made several boxes you’ll be good at estimating the construction steps and become more accurate.
GO FORTH AND QUOTE.

Y'all realize this guy is here just posting nonsense so he can promote his website. It's in his name.. eddieBullShit
I suppose you might be having a bad day — maybe mocking my name helps you feel a bit better.

Sign makers around the world have different ways of creating offers.
I live in a small corner of Europe, and I’m genuinely curious to learn if there are other methods for calculating quotes beyond the ones we’re used to here.

I’m sure there are people much smarter than me — I’m just here to learn, like everyone else.

You can stay, Eddie. Especially after that response.
