I am doing 2 trucks for one of my neighbours in my unit and they had one truck done before they moved in. The design is gross and we are stripping it all off and starting fresh. After washing the truck which I don't think has ever been washed I was horrified as I looked at the lettering on the sides. I can't believe that a sign shop could do something like this and it was in every letter on all 3 sides. I am posting a picture and you tell me just how wrong this is.

I can't believe someone would do that. Just plain wrong. I will say that only in a few spots did I see it separating which is surprising. That's the sort of competition I must deal with.....uggg

I have seen this MANY times before in my area. I know which shop does it too.

It's morally bankrupt to even weed vinyl cut like this let alone install it.

Some sign shops will do ANYTHING to save a buck.

gaba............

Outta curiosity, while you're removing the old lettering, is it actually coming off in bits and pieces where all the extra cut lines are ??

Hey Gino, I use a steamer and basically run across them with a lil chisler so they basically rip right off. If I were to use a heat gun and a picker I guess it would be a nightmare. The other goof up on the vehicle was that it had a large burgundy rectangle...probably 24" x 48" and all the copy inside was gold with a gold border around it. the border was made up of 4 gold pinstripes and then gold put on top of the burgundy. I can't figure out why they just wouldn't knockout all the lettering from the burgundy and place it on a a larger piece of gold vinyl eliminating the ridiculous pinstripe border.....a mix of 2 ml and 3 ml from what I can tell. Just awful awful awful...Good thing they found me!!!

Lotta hacks out there.

Non welded script installed on a truck really makes you shake your head...

Is that cut or applied over the old edge/glue/dirt residue? Looks as if someone did not clean the vehicle well enough before they applied their vinyl.

Far worse. They ran the vinyl through the cutter once. Then they loaded it back into the cutter and cut the new design. I guess all the extra cuts are free. Sheesh....

It's as the poster below you says...they ran a piece of vinyl back through the cutter that had already been cut. The strange thing is that all the cuts in each letter are the exact same letter. Almost like a duplicate was placed and was not noticed or invisible. Once they saw it they decided to weed one set and not start all over. I have never seen anything like this before....can't believe that the customer did not notice it after 3 years of using the vehicle.....just strange all together.
