Looks great! Awesome idea. We've been using etched vinyl for years, never knew it would react this way to the light though.

Care to make a tutorial on how to do this?
I've never tried edge lighting and this looks like a great new product to sell!

I have a number of edge lit signs out there. They are simple in concept, but can be a little tricky. I have a local college ordering a sponsor wall like this one (I did for the same customer who ordered the blue one above). I'll make a video when I start working on that one.

This looks great. Very nice job on both signs. I too would like to learn more about the components and how you're putting them together.

Hey Action--did you ever get around to making that video?

Would love to see how you brought this together, especially the Salem Armory Center piece.

Thanks!

Wow! Very nice work indeed. Looks awesome. I'm going to go tinker with some acrylic and etch now :)
Thank you.

For those that are interested I found this video. There is a load more on youtube but this was the best so far. The OP sign pictured looks like acrylic with black trim cap to contain the led strips, mounted with standoffs right to the wall. I am assuming the wiring is behind the white channel to the upper right side of the sign, possible power supply tucked away in drop ceiling. My only question is how do you handle the customer being able to turn the sign on/off. Remote LEDs?

I saw this one also, but it lacks any info. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p8gj01VZQqA
I would just put a hidden button switch on the side of the sign. I'm going to have to try this now.

This one is pretty good. I am currently quoting a project like this. So I have been doing alittle research.

From the picture, I'm assuming you applied the vinyl to the back side of the sign in order to give it that appearance. Am I correct?

That Klus extrusion is an elegant solution, but kinda expensive- $60 for a meter. I have been machining my own from oak but I would love to find a ready made extrusion... perhaps not quite so elegant/$. Has anyone seen anything similar for .22 acrylic? Thanks Gene

Sorry for the absence and the lack of the video. Kinda fell off the edge of the earth for a while. I'll try to get you guys some info soon. Yes, reverse cut white vinyl applied to the back. Way cheaper than a laser and pops just as well.
