Need Logo Design Help

Christian @ 2CT Media

Active Member
Let me preface this by saying that I've read through practically every logo design thread here and looked at each and every response. I tried to utilize the concepts shared in those threads to help me along.

I've drawn by hand a few concepts that turned into what I'm posting... My brain thinks geometrically so I use a lot of shapes in what I do, so sorry for the blandness.

I look forward to any insights you all would like to provide, and any criticism/help to get me to a point where I'd be proud to re-brand my company with.

Thank You,
Christian

Sorry to say I dont care for any. I think it's the whole CMYK thing. It's so dated. A couple of the designs aren't bad if the colors were different. Just my .02$

First off...please share WHO your target audience is, and how you want to portray your business. Or WHAT you want to portray your business as, per say. Logo design is much more than simply putting together a asthetically pleasing combo of shapes and colors.

Thanks for that Flame...

Our target audience is pretty broad, We do alot of Fair/Carnival work and are growing on that end but we really just want to start branding ourselves for the broad spectrum.

We really try to provide whatever our client could possibly need wither Large Format, Offset, Apparel, Dimensional, etc... We don't say no unless we absolutely can't do it.

Our Primary Business is Wide-Format Printing, and we are just now expanding to do apparel in-house. Our Staple business clients have always been small businesses and trade shows vendors.

Art! Hot and fresh.
Right now, all you're basically doing is throwing some semi geometric shapes together and adding text. try to find your own voice in your design work not some 50's technicolor porn.

and avoid cmyk logos ... everyone and their mother has cmyk logos.

Design in black and white THEN go to the color stage ... if your logo sucks in b/w ... it will suck with color added.

I like the 3 middle right ones also the CMYX colors on how you combined with 2CT plus the bold modern font, to me CMYX colors mean print...

Realistically, Your retail customers aren't going to know what the CMYK colors mean. Only wholesale customers would i would think as they are in the printing business.

We all here know what that means but from a retail standpoint the colors are meaningless.

Thanks for the Input from everyone, we have a quite a few wholesale clients that we do printing/installations for and have thought about growing that side of things. Since we don't have any sales staff and have been growing purely on referrals, Wholesale has always been an attractive avenue for us.

I guess where I'm stuck at is our name... it is meaningful to us but means nothing to any clients, I don't know how to gain inspiration for a logo.

It's better to have two hands than one glove.
None of them. Each is ghastly in its own way. The colors, the layouts, and the typography are dreadful.

All look like the sort of thing one sees in a window on butcher paper for a marginal business or, a memory flogger, a UHF public access time slot that's going to be around for maybe a couple of weeks.

Survey your clients, ask what you mean and provide to them. Are you corporate or Retail based, aim for the target market, not what you think is personal. What do clients see as your potential? Why do they like you? Why do they leave you if they do? JUST GO WHERE THE MONEY IS, as you can then afford to provide for the family then.

'Constructive criticism' is a phrase most often used by those seeking validation. It usually means "Please tell me what I should do."

Unfortunately insights into what you should do are rare. Observations of what you should not do are far more common and can be every bit as helpful as the other.

Comments telling you how wonderful your work might be do nothing to improve it.

The samples in the original post are so bad that they cannot be saved in any reasonable way. There is no insight into what you should do that is possible with this lot. Other than to start over, which is about as constructive as it's going to get.

Where to start, how to start, when to start, all of these things you must deal with all by yourself. Unless, of course, you'd like to pay someone to do it for you.

BOB, tell me I am an Idiot, or say what you think lol. I feel the guy opened up and asked for blunt comments, no need to have ALL roast him. AND BOB, you suk, stop being honest. I agree with all you say, JUST NOT with people who always give bad tidings,

I don't mind being told its all wrong, I'm trying to find out how to get inspired on this project.

While paying someone is the right thing to do, its also not going to let me figure out how to do things myself which leads to a perpetual cycle. I just don't want to cop out! I will take all the beatings, bashings, and criticisms.

Save for the few who said they like something or the other (Thank you!, I have a basis now)... I understand it all has to be redone, and those samples were just to show that I was at the brain block stage.

I guess All I'm truly asking for is insights into how you guys developed your logo and Inspiration to grow off of.
