Is it possible she's working with another sign company to see what the competitors are charging? Sounds like she just got a job in sales for some other sign company, and her first task is to "shop" other sign companies to see what they are charging. It also sounds like she's not going to have that job for long

I dont actually know. That might have been the case. She had her teenage daughter with her. I do know that we are on a busy road and many people come in saying they've always wanted to stop in.
