our epsons will do that if the simulation profile is turned on - like it's printing the paper color - which you would want to turn off in your case.

ITC Giovanni Italic is as close as I can find. That do-dad (for lack of a better term) hanging off the G is correct on Giovanni - but the serif in the G is slanted a bit in your pic.

draw shape you want to fit into (type is behind).
in .ai / env. distort / make with top object.
left image shows the type behind the shape, right object shows type distorted.

I use an ancient version of fontographer on the mac. that's it's sole purpose is to take vector objects and make complete fontsets. It's a full blown program that you can specify kerning pairs, etc.
