Sometimes you can have all the nozzles present and several of the nozzles be spraying off to the side which would cause the overspray. The reason it gets worse once you raise the head height is that the overspray has a farther distance to travel. Have any head strikes lately?
I second the 1624. It is a very versatile printer. We have two 1604s, a 1618 and two 1624s. The 1604s are workhorses but are getting old and worn down.....parts are getting expensive too.
When we have to replace one of the 1604s we'll probably get another 1624. Very pleased with them.
The problem is the area around the conveyor seem has a glue buildup. This is normal. The way around it is to you adjust the kiss cutting tool. What spring insert are you using and what depth is it set to on the tool itself?
We have found on both our cutters that if you are using the red spring...
Just installed a set on one of our Mutoh 1624's.....everyone loves it so we are going to order a set for the rest of the printers! We started ours on the right side of the printer at the bottom of the maintenance area and then across the entire printer to the left side and then down the side and...
Mutoh Valuejets. We had our profiles specially made for the material but I actually turn profiles off on quite a few jobs and it looks just fine.
As the material is quite a bit thick you may have to make bi-direction adjustments to clear things up a bit.
Having been eco-solvent printing for 3 years now I can tell you that you pretty much have to write your own dummy's guide from all the mistakes that you make......or.....spend lots of time browsing signs101.com....:)
The valuejets have a bi-di adjustment for each media setting you have. As I dont have a 1614 I can't say exactly how to get there but it should be something like "Menu" --> "Setup" --> "Media Type 1 (or whatever you want up to 30)" --> "Print Adjust"
While you can set the main uni and bi...
Is the platen or pre-heater plate ferrous? If so you will either need to run unmagnetized and magnetize it after printing or create a barrier between the printer surface and the magnetized material. I have made it out of self adhesive vinyl and then laminate.
We had the same fuse go out on a 1618. If you don't have a really good printer tech available (and I mean one with lots of electronic experience) I would recommend taking the board to a professional/industrial electronics shop to have them remove and replace the fuse.
