Have a customer who wants his decals with a heavier liner than the standard 90# you will find on just about all self-adhesive vinyls. Not finding anything out there. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Have you printed on that vinyl before? Looks like some bad material.....its not allowing the ink to bite down into it causing it to puddle to areas where it will. On the ink issue, sounds like a bad seal between your manifold and print head. Just my 2cents.

So our current 3rd party ink manufacturer just upped the price of each 1L ink(ecosol) bag by 20%. The problem we are having in finding another manufacturer is that very few supply ecosol inks in the 1L ink bags compatible with Mutoh printers. Who besides STS does so? Thanks.

I am willing to bet its the head or CR Cables. Usually if its the encoder strip you will get a CR error.

There is a menu setting to where you can set it to do an auto cleaning anywhere from 0-1440 minutes. I have mine set to every 240 minutes (4 hours). This keeps them good to go on weekends and slow print weeks.

Yes. Just make sure you remove the cards as soon as the printer initializes. This way the cards will last indefinitly. We had the same thing happen about 6 months ago on one of our 1604's so we rarely remove the cartridges any more.

On my older Mutoh's I hardly buy parts from Mutoh anymore. There are a lot of 3rd party parts out there that do the job just fine. I get most from dgpartsmall.com. FYI.

Its called "Spitting." Sounds like its set to spit on your media as opposed to on the spittoon pad. You can change that in your menu settings. I'm running 1604's and 1624's but the menu shouldn't be that different. Menu -->Setup-->Spitting
