  1. Print Head Misalignment - SP-300i Please Help!

Your horizontal alignment is very far out, it's an electronic adjustment so it shouldn't have been affected by a move. It could be perpetuated by the other physical head alignments. Since both MG/YE are dropping ink it's likely the cap not sealing to the head during cleaning causing the loss...
  2. SP-300 V Magenta overspray

i see the bi-directional and horizontal test prints, have you done the bias and vertical? They are physical adjustments, and should be done before the horizontal and bi-dir. Hard to see from the images, but on the fill pattern it looks like static overspray off to the side.
  3. SP540-V print/cut adjustment in service mode?

There is a set of each print-cut alignments and crop cut alignments in the service menu, since cuts with and without crop marks are aligned differently. First off, which are you having trouble with, crop marks or none? Second, 3/16ths is pretty huge for cut alignment, i'm not sure the numbers...
  4. VersaWorks Metallic print of JPEG? possible

Also, there is a library of metallic textures inside the versaworks swatch directory. You can print it to look a little more like metallic fleck than metallic nail polish.
  5. What does this test print mean?

Black ink is a little more dense than the other colours, and tends to go wonky before them for that reason. White and silver even more so. I've replaced many a head on SP's for the same reason, black is fuzzy, cyan is fine.
  6. Looking for Roland Parts Dealer in Canada

also, as far as fuses go, i suck at soldering, and these fuses pop from a gentle summer breeze. I just take mainboards down to a local audio equipment repair place and get the guru there to attach one. the fuse itself a couple bucks, and attaching it was 10-15. he had the same spec fuses, just...
  7. Print Issue

Printing or cleaning lots will un-merge ink from the heads/dampers, but doesn't solve what caused them to merge in the first place. the 2 caps share a common pump, so if one is compromised, it can affect the other as much as itself. So one of the drain lines could be blocked, or one of the...
  8. What does this test print mean?

You already soaked/flushed it, that's pretty much going nuclear other than those ultrasonic baths. 6 years is a good run, i'd hope it didn't owe you any money at this point :)
  9. Looking for Roland Parts Dealer in Canada

SABIC and TG graphics in Winnipeg are closeish to you.
  10. Versacamm Help Required. Cleaned Head Now Not Printing

That black is pretty ugly, but the SP's print slow. How do actual prints look?
  11. Versacamm Help Required. Cleaned Head Now Not Printing

Captop height, no. captop position, yes. 2 things at play for the position. The lock position, where it hold the head in place, and the cap assembly position. It's easier to loosen the captop assembly (4 screws at the base), lock the heads and move the assembly to where everything looks most...
  12. Versacamm Help Required. Cleaned Head Now Not Printing

i responded in the PM, but i'll paraphrase here as well. It fired a few specks of black ink, so electrical is probably good. Ink can get to, and stay in the dampers. If ink can make it to the head, but not through, its usually a cap or drain line issue. If 3rd party ink, it's probably hardened...
  13. Versacamm Help Required. Cleaned Head Now Not Printing

I'd be the closest service tech, in winnipeg. I've been to T-bay a few times.
  14. Corel Draw to Versaworks

It's a quality over time thing. you can print a really solid white over a colour, if you print the colour first, enable return to origin, let it dry for a few minutes, print white only, return to origin, wait a few minutes and print white only again. Printing white over still tacky ink will...
  15. Corel Draw to Versaworks

you'd also be better off knocking out the text from the red background, as white printer over red is not going to stand out very much, compared to white over clear.
  16. VS-540 Loud carriage noise

yup, that motor sounds terrible. There is a glass encoder disc at the bottom of the motor, where the oval part is. that may be what is making the grindy sounds. A new motor would solve that, but you aren't making anything worse by trying to save the current one :) New motor is just a drop in...
  17. XF 640 printer head installation problems

If you can see ink going through the head, but nothing is firing it's electrical. hopefully something like the head cables aren't seated all the way in, or a fuse popped.
  18. VS-540 woes

Here ya go. Be of note this is the color order on the stems, the dampers rotate from the colors on the top of them.
  19. VS-540 Loud carriage noise

Sounds like the pulley to me, old scan motors make a high pitch wail. The scan motor has an adjustment point, relative to the drive gear. Loosed the bolts (2.5mm hex i think) wiggle the gear back and forth, there should be a spring pulling the motor gear against the drive gear, so wiggling...
  20. XR640 feed roll going loose on one side on long job

the media on the holders are really dependent on a good grip from their bolt. Those bolts strip from a cool summer breeze it seems. If the bolts aren't holding, they'll slip and have one side of the media sag. Another possible issue if you are using the take up reel, the dancer bar can also...
