Since all parts have variability in them, alignments and adjustments are recommended. However, nothing wrong with just doing a swap and seeing how well it works, likely adjustments will be needed but you might luck out.

Pressure test should be fine without having to add ink.

Quick update, factory parameters with just adjustments made to ink fill status, still get the same error. Slider comms seem good, reset battery/SD card in case those might be holding wonky parameters. Talked to a Mimaki tech I know and he said he's seen it before and will try and to look into...

Seems the issue is popping up again with new firmware and factory restored parameters, joy. Thankfully I have parameters, and the program to set them now. Shh, it's a secret. The printer did work ok before, but now, without proper cleaning on head 2, clear/white go to hell and stay that way.

Slider PCB isn't hard to get to remove the right-hand covers, remove printhead cover, board is on top. Lots of tubing and wiring, but probably only a couple of hours of work. As with any circuit board, grounding is key to keep from exploding things.

Voltage is software controlled, lets the nozzles fire a bit hotter or colder to compensate for the random variation in a printhead. The power supplies in these things are pretty robust (and crazy expensive) and are regulated as well. Might just be coincidence, or ink issues causing it. Though...

I imagine the heads are physically locked down and fine, just the alignment in firmware is likely to need adjusting.

Not sure if the 7151's setup guide includes instructions for a head alignment, of if you'll have to find a service manual. Might want to give that a try, as well as voltage adjustments. Might help. I know it can with the CE4 heads on the 3042/6042MKII printers. Different heads, same manufacturer...

I've heard a lot of nightmare tech stories across pretty much all the printer brands. Gets worse when you have an oddball printer. Service manuals only go so far when trying to understand a weird issue. Thankfully, I've been pretty good about figuring things out on my own and getting help here...

If you have your install guide that came with the printer, that covers the routing. Should be under menu> #TEST > PRESSURE if I remember correctly.
