You said you're using the Avery 1005 Supercast, right? Use the DOL 1360 lam and bridge right over it. heat it and push it in with an applicator glove coated w/ soap & water. Then post heat to 190*. It's not going anywhere. Promise.
And don't use 94. EVER!
That's awesome Josh! We're good friends with the other big shop by us. No need to hate on each other. We've both bailed each other out many times. It's nice to be able to call up your competitor at 7:30 at night on Sat and bum ink off of them. Or when you get a call on a Sunday and he's looking...
That's the beautiful thing about the Avery Supercast. I do corrugated sides the exact same way and zero failures. I do use a glove though with baby shampoo and water to push in the vinyl. Then go back and rivet brush everything. Stuff is awesome for these types of projects. Nice job!
We're located in So California and do cold laminate our windows. Started doing it about 6 months ago as a selling point because no one around here does it. We always spray laminated the perf prior to that. But as an added bonus we can now tell the customer they can see when it rains, use their...
Are you talking about where the bed side gets indented? If so, heck no. no relieve cut needed. I'm talking about the hard 90* edge where the flair meets the bed. Just an installer preference I guess, that's all. Wrapping that area, and then running your knife will relieve all pressure. Squeegy...
We use Denco www.dencosales.com They have a location down the street. usually cheaper then Fellers, if not they match it. and best part is they deliver for free. Two trucks a day. 9am and 1pm. I've literally had them deliver a can of edge sealer to me for free. My rep is amazing. Even came in...
I'm with everyone else that said those really aren't flairs. I personally wouldn't remove them and they wouldn't really slow me down. And yes, using the right material will make the world of difference. Remember to post heat in the areas you stretched.
Also, remember to run your knife around...
We did a BMW in Hexis Super Matte. Talk about dull. It's good looking. Problem is it scratches really bad. We did the hood three times until we found a squeegy, post heat and wax combo that worked. Once it was wrapped we went over the entire thing with a flared tip on the heat gun (and it was...
We do a 3 year written warranty. We write down the laminate lot number and the vinyl lot number. Along with the day it was printed, the day it was laminated and the date it was installed. This shows the vinyl was outgassed. On the same sheet of paper we also include the wrap care instructions...
