You are the textbook target for a Colorado. The easy math...assuming you are running Roland brand inks, and being very conservative....you'll save at least $.10/ft2 in ink alone and likely more than double your production speed (if not triple) even when printing in High Quality mode around...
The M series only has four heads and they, for some reason, don't really cost any more than the 1650 heads. With less heads to replace and the "dabbing" station, the new heads on the M series are expected to last a lot longer.
If you are finding the Canon paper working well enough, then the paper you are trying to use is obviously trying to absorb the ink (like a drop of beer in a napkin). You likely aren't getting a full cure and my guess is the paper print smells like UV ink??? We sell a crap ton of a paper we...
You can pay (a lot) of money to have Canon de-install and re-install a flatbed. They charge a ton but it does bring an element of confidence in terms of being able to securely move the unit. These big units don't like being moved too often, that's for sure.
I've got some options for you beyond the WindowTac (which I sell). Do you have a laminator? If so, I'd go with a clear removable adhesive and a white/white adhesive vinyl for your white point. Whether or not you want it to be completely opaque would be up to you.
The cheapeast and easiest...
Drytac has an awesome 6mil white with clear removable-to-permanent adhesive and air-egress. The thickness makes it a breeze to apply....it can also be applied down to -5 degrees Fahrenheit.
Is the curling on your stickers on all aspects of the decal or just the "top and the bottom". If it is just the top and bottom, then the curl is a result of your laminator applying too much tension to the laminating film before being applied. For small decals, you definitely want to use a 90#...
Are you looking for a textured durable laminate? Polycarbonate will work, but so will a semi-rigid 6mil textured lam which will save you hundreds of dollars per roll. We sell 54"x150' rolls of this laminate (commonly used for tough applications like floor and trade show graphics) for $279 and...
If you are trying to create some level of privacy, there is also a really cool product from Continental which is a clear PVC with white prisms already in the film. It is designed to give people who don't have white ink an element of a white point on a clear film. It is very cool and not very...
I've found that 'absorbent' substrates like soft wood and uncoated fabrics (think of a drop of beer on a napkin...it gets absorbed into the napkin) that you'll get that odor because not all of the ink gets fully cured. Usually on hard surfaces you get no odors. I really see it in uncoated...
I sell Roland units and can't really argue with the price difference between the Roland and the Epson. Both will give you incredible looking prints and are easy to use. I will say, after having sold hundreds of Roland and Graphtec plotters, spend the extra money and get a Summa plotter. They...
The best wall film out there is Retac from Drytac. If the wall is primed and painted, you can throw this material on the wall and it will remove cleanly even years later. It is 6mils thick - no stretch - so it is easy to apply. It comes in a Smooth, Canvas, Linen, and Sand finish. The...
Sorry for the delay...I was traveling this week and don't really look at this forum when on my cell phone. The backlit perf is a white/white perf so at night the perf doesn't disappear like normal perf does. It has a great effect by holding on to the interior light within a store or office. I...
The other problem is for years people have been buying "Canon" materials from CSA - Canon Solutions America which is the old Oce. Now they are moving a lot of things over to CUSA - Canon USA. They have some different part numbers....and a lot of the part numbers end in "AA" for some reason...
What brand of welder is it? If it is an awesome Miller Weldmaster, then you should jump on it. Depending on whether or not it is a hot air or hot wedge will help identify some of the polyester fabrics which weld or not. They are awesome on PVC. Miller machines last forever and are backed by...
