  1. using ChatGPT for sign design and logos

I remember when using photoshop or cutting vinyl instead of painting was considered "cheating." AI is probably going to be similar for my generation where the young people see it as normal and the oldies complain about the good ol' days when humans made the art.
  2. JFX 200 & LUS150 Inks

These inks have some of the shortest shelf life and a lot of people have this exact same issue. In fact, Mimakis's guarantee is only 3 months by the time it gets to dealers, although they usually don't stick it to us that bad. 6 - 8 months is normal in the US with 12 being a happy surprise once...
  3. Printhead Cost

From a tech standpoint, there are a bunch of reasons as some have stated above. Between the HP and Epson heads, the Epson solvent heads last much longer. Since HP uses heat to push ink out of the nozzles, it causes many cycles of expansion and contraction which deteriorates the physical...
  4. Question TPC-100 using 4 cartridges only

With the CMYKx2 configuration, you just put 1 of each color cartridge in and it will still work even with the red lights above the empty slots.
  5. Third party DX4 printheads

$200 is definitely a scam in my experience. There are no 3rd party Epson printheads so they all come from an Epson factory. At worst, a $200 DX4 seller will just take your money and run. At best, it's stolen and might actually work in your machine, if they actually send it to you. It's best to...
  6. Fuzzy edge on print and thin magenta boarder, head alignment?

I don't have that manual but see if you can get your hands on one. You need to do the bias adjustment which is basically the physical tilt of the head. See the picture below. I've circled the bias alignment. Those two sets of lines should be parallel.
  7. Question Anybody have a list of parameters and what each does in service mode of the UCJV300?

You just need to get your hands on the Mimaki Firmware Update tool. I don't have it handy right now but I'm sure someone on here might be able to hook you up. Power up the machine while holding the up and down keys and it will enter the Up/Download mode and you can use the software to download...
  8. Question Anybody have a list of parameters and what each does in service mode of the UCJV300?

They don't even give that to the Mimaki employed techs. Last time I was at training, the Mimaki tech said he downloads the parameter file, then changes a setting, and then downloads the file again. Then he uses a program that shows what changed between the files and that's how he figures out...
  9. Question Is Mimaki UJV 100-160plus worth it comparing it to UCJV330?

Yeah the 100 is considered more of an entry level machine and the 300/330 is their top of the line all the bells and whistles model.
  10. JFX200 2513 EX - Primary pump

If you're replacing one of the pumps in the supply box that has like 10 pumps in it, you can take a syringe and pull some ink through before attaching the output line and that will minimize any air getting into the system. It's not a must but it can help avoid air bubbles causing issues. Whether...
  11. JFX200 2513 EX - Head 1 - Magenta nozzles

No those dampers shouldn't affect the printhead nozzles. I agree with Smoke, I'd start with new sub tanks for sure.
  12. JFX200 2513 EX - Head 1 - Magenta nozzles

It's because the Ricoh heads are designed to work with the positive and negative pressure system and those sub tanks are designed specifically for those heads and pressure system. It's the same reason Epson head based machines use a lot of Epson parts like dampers and the ink cartridge system...
  13. UCJV330 + RL7 - Space between jobs

Yeah, it's in the firmware and not user or tech changeable.
  14. Need help 80600 creating profile hit KAWASAKI green

Modern printers have extended their gamut past the default CMYK gamut used in most design software input profiles. RGB has a much wider gamut than CMYK which is why when you send over the RGB file, it can hit those colors that aren't represented in the standard CMYK input profile. Manufacturers...
  15. Need Help Mutoh ValueJet 1624x Error E082Err Wiper Sns

There is no home position for the gears. The wiper sensor tells the machine when the wiper is back in the home position which stops the motor.
  16. Grimco and Epson Issue

As a Mimaki dealer who competes with Grimco, love to hear it.
  17. Anyone have an ICC file for Mutoh Xpertjet 1341SRPro Using FlexiSign24 & Flexi production manager

Did you try any of the ones from Mutoh's FTP site? They are for Flexi 21 but should work in 24.
  18. JFX 200-2513 system halt 19a: EMG Push Error

I've also seen a couple times on this model where the switch gets stuck so you might need to take some of the covers off around it and check if anything is preventing it from popping fully back up.
  19. Question 1624 advice

Unfortunately, it's hard to say. It looks like magenta is the issue and it's printing when it shouldn't. It is also printing when it should though which is weird. It could be the head or the main board but you won't know until you install them. If you can get your hands on a used/bad head that...
  20. Magnet Material

Other than feeding issues, one head strike on magnet could cost you $$$$ for a printhead. Not worth it in my opinion.
