It's most likely the head if the encoder didn't do the trick. That's some pretty bad overspray.

Damaged or dirty encoder strips can cause a stair step effect that sort of skews your image and also overspray. A bad cap top will cause nozzles to drop out and cause banding but it can also cause nozzles to partially clog which will also cause overspray. The cap top should be replaced once a...

Head heat errors mean the head is heating up due to a short. Check the cables and replace if they are damaged or dirty. If it's not the cables, it's usually a damaged head but it can be another electrical issue deeper in the machine as well.

When you change it, once it saves, try turning the printer of with the main power switch. Sometimes you have to do that to get it to save for some reason.

You can try to contact Mimaki and ask for it but they might tell you to get your dealer to do it. They keep them on file there. It's probably a good idea because there are a bunch of other parameters that have been initialized that are specific to your printer and the new CSV file will bring...

Ask the third party ink manufacturer. Sometimes the answer is yes and sometimes no. It depends on the manufacturer. We sell the Bordeaux brand which is considered, "pour over" which just means you can swap them in as you run out of the OEM ink without flushing.

Yes, changing it back to a 1 will indicate it's a JV300 but now that your parameters are initialized, you might need to run head alignments etc. as the old settings are gone unless you downloaded the parameter file as a backup first.

If the head is older than 3-5 years, it is more likely. Anything over 5 is very good.

We've had people buy a printer with a card and in those rare cases we do add a fee if they absolutely have to use a card.

It's possible but cross contamination tends to be a partially clogged cap top that isn't draining fast enough, a bad damper, or a failing wiper not making good contact with the head.

Bake it into your pricing. Customers tend to see the fee as your business expense and can get angry that you're making them pay it. Bake it in and everyone's happy.
