Take straight on pics and design over that. Take a few measurements of known parts and scale your pics to match (or at a certain scale).
Easy enough…..
Let me see where on 3Ms MCS warranty that they say 10years! I don’t have mine in front of me but I HIGHLY doubt they say that. I could be wrong. I carry a 3M MCS Warranty and don’t recall anything that high.
As others have said 3M/Avery would be my go to to start.
As far as cost goes…..
Figure out how much material you are going to need add your margin. Then figure out how many hours it will take you to do. Multiply that by your labor rate. Add those 2 numbers together and PRESTO! There is...
Before looking at all of these “recommendations for material” here are some things to remember about what you are about to get into.
- Adhesion tests should be a MUST in my opinion. When we produce wall murals we ALWAYS do a test. I’ve installed a lot of supplied murals and let me tell you...
Not only do you have to figure out your overhead, you also need to figure out what margin you want to operate at.
The overhead gives you your calculated hourly rate for labor. You should also have an idea of what things are going for in your area. You should be in that area as well for your...

SMH!!!!
I laterally laughed at my client and ask “are you...
Did you you an adhesion test before picking your product?
What type of paint was used. There are recommended paints from most manufacturers. May take a bit of digging to find. I just sat down last week with some Orafol reps and this was a topic that we discussed and laughed.
I will 100% disagree with your statement. If you are just pounding out For Sale signs sure. You have to know how to use clipping masked, effects, color combos, text weights, etc and use them effectively. This makes a designer.
Never clear coat over vinyl. You are just asking for trouble a few years down the road.
Case in point - the problem you are having now.
Vinyl/Lam does shrink (yes even cast). Your clear coat is not. Thus the cracking. I believe manufacturers say not clear coat over their products. Not 100%...
32+ years in the business
25+ years wrapping vehicles
Here is my opinion as the business owner, vehicle wrapper and even from an employee perspective (I use to be one before I bought my business)
From the employee perspective, I’d say that they know what they know and it is on you, the owner...
