  1. Suggestions Simple/Easy-ish software for ADA sign/dimensional sign mockups?

I haven't. I honestly don't experiment much in Illustrator these days, just use the basic features that I can wrap my head around. I'll check it out though, looks like it might do what I'm looking for. Thanks.
  2. News Beware -Starboard Group

Crazy to think that they would expect you to do more work for them when they owe you money and are refusing to pay. Hope you're able to get more of out them. Personally I'd be tempted to take on the job and hold them hostage, but I guess that wouldn't be too professional.........
  3. Suggestions Simple/Easy-ish software for ADA sign/dimensional sign mockups?

This looks really useful, but can't seem to find any links on how to get this plugin:
  4. Suggestions Simple/Easy-ish software for ADA sign/dimensional sign mockups?

Hey Scott, that would be nice for sure! I'll have another look at e-cut. We had it in the past but on an old computer. I'm more looking for a way of making a 3D rendering to visualize/demonstrate how the signs would look. (related the project we were talking about) Played around with SketchUp...
  5. Suggestions Simple/Easy-ish software for ADA sign/dimensional sign mockups?

Can anyone recommend a good option for making ADA/dimensional sign mockups? I don't need any crazy Auto-cad features and don't need take-offs for manufacturing, just simply want to be able to mockup signs w/ some dimension. For example, playing around with multi-layered ADA signs and want to...
  6. Logo Design

Interesting, I'll have to play with this a bit. Does it not understand how to use proper spelling or were you intentionally giving it misspelled words?
  7. Possible to use colorchange wrap vinyl on inside of glass to be seen from outside?

Gee, that's pretty specific isn't it?! :roflmao: What if you print your "pastel" or "bright" color on clear vinyl, then back it with metallic silver vinyl? Then cut all your text/logos/whatever in reverse, weed, mask, apply on inside of glass.
  8. Possible to use colorchange wrap vinyl on inside of glass to be seen from outside?

What finish/color/look is your client looking for, specifically? Lots of mylar/polyester/metallic films have the same finish on adhesive side, just depends what you're looking for and how wide of a roll you need to use.
  9. Need Help Coroplast issues - seeking tips and tricks

What kind of flatbed printer are you using? I'm surprised it doesn't have enough vacuum power to hold down a sheet of coroplast. I don't know that a heat gun will help here. Usually all you need is a bit of pressure/weight on the ends if a sheet is warped - as soon as it seals the vacuum will...
  10. Hello from the frozen north!

Hey Kayle, welcome from Winnipeg! You guys have any snow left over there? Disappearing fast here, which is super weird for Jan/Feb in Winterpeg. Out of curiosity, what does it mean to be a 3M Silver Select shop? I've never heard that terminology before.
  11. Logo Design

This is both hilarious and scary. Mind sharing what type of AI you're using for these? Not to get too side-tracked (or is it too late for that?) but how do rights/copyrights work for AI-generated logos?
  12. Looking for a suppler that uses UV ink only for Pole banners

Incorrect. UV does fade and will do so faster than most solvent inks. I'd say your customer has been misinformed.
  13. Solvent smell on Epson S80600L's

We have (1) S60600 in a 2500 sqft shop, and when printing heavy coverage/long runs I can taste the ink in the upstairs office, which is almost completely sealed off from the production area. That's with lots of ceiling fans going and an air scrubber beside the printer.
  14. Colour profiling and calibration

Contacting X-rite might be a good start like you mentioned, see if they have anyone they would recommend. You could also talk to ND Graphics, we had Wissam (from ND) come to our shop for 2 days and help us build some profiles w/ our i1 in Onyx. We ended up spending/wasting almost a full day...

  16. Summa F serie

This is the first time I've heard this before. Is there a document outlining what should be checked/maintained?
  17. Any Canadians have experience hiring immigrants?

You could always give these guys a call: https://cdnvisa.com/ They're a customer of ours, I'm pretty sure this is something they do. (Not a plug, just first company that came to mind)
  18. News Save $ on JetBest Ink

  19. ONYX - add 10mm white + black outline?

I'm not near our RIP station but you SHOULD be able to achieve this. Add 10mm "bleed" and set it to white. Add trimlines and set to bleed area or something along those lines. That should work.
  20. For everyone thinking of purchasing a Summa, specifically F1612, don't.

Yeah, same here. We've run all day vinyl cut jobs and it will work fine for most of the day then just start dropping jobs halfway through. Blew one slot on our board a few months back then finally blew the second one just before the holidays. Board wasn't terribly expensive or hard to...
